I am thinking of possibly making a SWAT map, but I can't find many specifics on that a swat map looks like (i.e. weapons placements, amount/placement of cover, etc.)

    could anyone help me out?

Im not sure, as i dont make SWAT maps, but try looking over Bungie's map Tundra SWAT, it might give you some basics on weapon placement and cover.

i would suggest long but narrow lines of sight with multiple ways of travel. as far as weapons, just put BRs and carbines where ever they look and feel natural upon completion.

i don't think that you put BRs on SWAT maps considering you start with them and you have infinite ammo.

You definitely don't need BRs on SWAT maps played with SWAT gametypes. I've done a few SWAT adaptations for maps and the only thing you really need to put on your map is precisely/conveniently placed carbines, frag and plasma nades.

For the map itself you should make sure that there is an abundance of middle ranged LOS (sight lines) and player movement, not too much cover getting in the way. The reason; BRs work best a middle range with decent latency. It's been a while since I have seen a good SWAT map, good luck!
