Yeah but downhill you'd fall off... plus you can slip and slide, you might get shot by the tank itself (the shot doesn't come out at the tip of the barrel), you're a bigger target (how the marines sit would be a smaller target than standing, and a few other dumb things. But w/e.
Elite Honour Pike. Longer attack range then energy sword, faster attack, weaker damage. Appears as the Honour Guard pike from halo wars.
an apc sort of thing, like the canadian lav (pic) it could work, it just couldnt go as fast as the mongoose or be as strong as a gauss hog.
I don't know if anyone said this in the thread before, but the Shadow from Halo 2. It transports up to 10 people (1 driver, 1 gunner, 8 occupants). I don't know if this thread is hinting at new ideas for Reach, but if Reach's multiplayer becomes larger then vehicles like these can become useful.
too bad you cant drive if you have the flag/bomb, like in h1... I want a GAUSS RIFLE! | | | V V V a lower-powered version of the gauss hog's turret. (equivalent of downsizing the machine gun turret to the BR)
Yeah, you raise a good point. Well, depending on the number of players they'll allow in Reach (if it's the number that the Battlefield games support, I'll cream myself) then drivable Pelicans and Phantoms. Someone I know off another forum I go to had a great idea: Instead of spawning on the via spawn point, the game starts with Pelicans/Phantoms flying you into battle and dropping you off and when you die and need to respawn, you fall from an ODST Drop Pod and they'll be destructible so the battle won't be littered with a thousand Drop Pods. Maybe some other things will happen after a certain amount of time passes in game, like a Pelican flying into battle dropping vehicles into the battle and where they're being dropped off showed on your HUD via a waypoint until someone destroys or gets in it. That would be pretty sick. Basically, anything that will make Reach the Battlefield of the Halo games, considering all the large scale battles of Reach, it could work out nice. Hell, maybe even being able to forge places where Pelicans drop vehicles off and Drop Spawn locations as well (though still containing the option to use classic spawns as well for MLG and the like.) It would make Infection games a lot more interesting.
That is actually the best Idea I have read in this thread. No joke. It would be hard to implement, but it would be totally worth the effort in the end.
Plus, it'll kind of separate Reach from the Trilogy in a way seeing as the Trilogy is unrealistic in everything from physics to the ability to survive a shot of superheated plasma. A realistic Halo, but with the options to use old physics and everything from the third game for forge and everything, would be a very nice change of pace from the usual jump three feet while surviving forty shots from a super heated plasma spewing gun game that we're all used to. Oh, and I want the most in depth character customization possible. I'm talking painting sections of your armor different colors, a lot more armor variations, etc. I want to feel like I'm in that MJOLNIR Mark V armor fighting for my life.
In Halo PC, you can sit on the tank treads. The tank can hold 4 passengers. The only problem in CE was that it was in 1st person, so you would become disoriented when your screen flipped upside down. I'd like those shade turrets from Halo 1. It didn't give any great protection, but it was taken seriously. You wouldn't run up to the turret like you do in The Pit when someone's on it. I'd like the original trip mines from Halo 3 beta. They would stick to the bottom of vehicles, and actually killed you if you jumped on them. I'd like to see a slow-down powerup that makes the game 2 times slower for a certain amount of time. I don't want to see it in maps, but I'd like for it to be an option when I forge. Speaking of forge, I want a Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V feature. After I make one base, I want to copy it and paste it, instead of making it again.
YES! I WOULD LOVE THAT! MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER!!! I'm actually suprised, I love the idea that Scobra had said from someone else. Pelicans and Phantoms in Forge would be AMAZING! BUT, the bad thing is : You'd need BIG ASS Maps. I mean HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Maps for that to happen. Like a Campaign Level Map. I would love to see : A complete BLANK Canvas with a Floor - Sort of like Skybubble just with a floor. OR Settings, like how big you want the map too be. Could be small, could be big - You choose. WOULD LOVE THAT!
