Heretic looks awesome, but it sure looks B.U.N.G.L.E pro with the bubble shield, lol.

Longshore makes me moist. There looks to be some serious forge potential if there's enough scenery to work with.

Watching the vid for Citadel, I was half-expecting to see the lift to the boss battle. The tower battles are my favorite part of The Covenant, and this makes me a happy squid.

 

I have no complaints about Heretic so far. Out of all the remakes (NOT including Avalanche, people who think that's a legit remake clearly never played Halo: CE) it looks the most faithful and I'm sure it'll play awesome.

Citadel was the biggest surprise to me, it looks kinda like a more old-school Halo map. I was also happy to see that it's more open then I originally thought, which means it'll be less of a ridiculous shotgun cluster****.

Longshore KIND OF dissapointed me, unfortunately, if only because there's no vehicles except the ghost. I hope Bungie puts out a "heavy" variation with warthogs, or even just gooses (did anyone see any?). Layout is beautiful though, even thought it didn't live up to my expectations I imagine it'll be a good map. OH, and there were no videos of the extendy bridge, grrrr.

This may be the best Halo 3 map pack yet, actually.

This looks like its going to be the best map pack ever.
I also like Heretics darker look or maybe that was just the video idk.
I didnt see any beach or foliage in Longshore that I wanted to see, oh well.

They look so good, in terms of both gameplay and aesthetics. Heretic holds no surprises as its an exact remake, citadel looks like it supports very solid gameplay and I can see that being preferred by MLG players out of the three. I'm most impressed by longshore, from what I can tell it has a great layout and hosts a vast array of weapons and equipment.

As for forging opportunities, I can't imagine anything beyond the usual infection adaptations really. Bit of a shame but sandbox is still keeping me intrigued.

 

Citadel looks pretty awesome, although not much Forging potential thus far.
Heretic is what the MLG peeps will now be playing obviously.
Longshore looks swweeeeeetttttttttt. And much bigger than I actually thought. Lots of paths to roam but a large map without a warthog?

Heretic looks spot on, with some slight changes in jump distances to compensate for H3 physics. They resisted the urge to add random aesthetic pieces to the map and it looks like it'll play very smoothly. Really looking forward to competitive games there.

Longshore might actually be promising for some forging, if it has a rats nest style palette I'll be happy. Not as vertical as I'd have liked, but the player in the video seemed to revisit the same areas so that may be a misrepresentation.

 

Is it me or are the play testers ****? Hum?

On topic: The maps look really nice. Longshore looks the best IMO, I think its a bit like Ghost town with all the long and random windy corridors, Cept its bigger ;p

 

I haven't watched the videos yet because they're not loading for some reason, but from the pictures, the maps are looking better and better every time. One picture that jumped out at me is this one. It looks like you can get on top of a crane or another large structure and walk through a large tunnel in the air.

idk, Longshore looks like a combo of The Storm at the Hunter pair, Turf and Headlong from Halo 2. It seems small from the players view, but only cause he stayed in one part. But I know it's much bigger, as the first picture released of Longshore had a wide balcony at the top of the building. Hopefully it's like Avalanche in terms of forging, a combo of different objects from different maps, as well as new forging objects just for itself.

Heretic stays just about true to the original, with the exception of the floating bridge doesn't shake, as well as equipment. The name makes no sense, doesn't Midship take place in a Covenant Loyalist ship? But I'm going too deep in. Heretic is to Midship as Blackout is to Lockout.

Citadel is a million times more symmetrical than I had expected, though that does it good, in a sense. Not much to say to this map, except that it very much has the feel of the Citadels from the Covenant.

All in all, this is the best map pack yet, and if Longshore is a forging canvas as well, will only make it better. Though it may parallel the Legendary map pack, two gameplay maps and one gameplay- Forge map. That would make sense, as there were two map packs with forge canvases.

 

Mouveable bridge? Sounds good to me

 

When i look at Longshore One thing enters my mind about the forging ideas... Infection! It looks like such a good setting to have a Manifest type map built. But all of the possibilities are gonna depend deeply upon whether there are good forge items..

 

I'm finding it awesome they show the number of games you play in pie chart form.

 

Yeah.. I can also see it being used for machnima purposes.

Oh, and remember when everyone was arguing whether the bright blue object was a sword or a beam rifle.

It's definitely a sword.

 

Also, the sky bridge looks like it's in the back right of the large building. This probably means that you can use the very top floor of the building and the back of the map, which we can't see yet...

Yeah, back when the first image of Longshore was released, I didn't think too much of it, but after watching those videos, I think it looks like the best map in the entire Mythic Map Pack (besides Sandbox, of course. ).

Longshore definitely looks like it will be good for infection. I'm excited to Forge on it!
