No, the guns Hunters use have a much faster rate of fire, and Hunter cannon projectiles are clouds of energy whereas a Fuel Rod Cannon's projectiles are vials of green glowing... stuff.
Something better then a radar jammer that doens't effect your team or just wipes out radat completely for a short amount of time. That and a recon/special kind of armor unlockable for the elite. So dinosaurs become less hated.

i'd just take the Locust vehicle from Halo Wars. Bungie would never give us a Scarab, so Locust would be the closest thing
Air strike anyone? Maybe for bigger maps though... I'd like a silenced pistol that fires rapidly like in Halo 2. I guess that's new ODST pistol, but I'd like to see it in MM.
Everyone who says Arbiter armor for Elites, it's not gonna happen, even in Halo: Reach. For one, armor colors would take about a year (joking) to finish, cause look, the only Arby colors were bronze (tan) and silver (silver). Second, it has a different hitbox than the elite armors we have now. Thirdly, it has a height difference. Thel Vadam is about 9 ft. tall, while the normal Elites that we play as are about 8'5 or 8'6. Anyways, onto my ideas. Armors: Elite Honor Guard: Equivalent to Flaming chest, as the orange add-ons would probably show during camo. Lance: Combat or Honor Guard Chestpiece with the Elite honor guard lance on back. Equal to Katana. Heretic: Equal to Recon, many might have forgotten the Heretic Elites from Halo 2. I believe they should give Elites this armor, as even though they are aliens, there are still many people who play as them (including me.) Equipment: Satchel Charge: Screw the Trip Mine, Satchel which has a timer and can be stuck onto vehicles. Light Armor 1 hit, Tanks 2 hit kills. Magnet: Someone said this before, great idea. Pulls weapons all the way towards its self, player models halfway towards it. Has same explosion as Radar Jammer. Engineer: Engineer which is going to be in Halo 3: ODST, fixes anything. Flies towards nearest weapon and replenishes some ammo, half ammo for Grav Hammer and Energy sword. Vehicle: Anti-Air Wraith: Anti Air wraith from campaign, not able to button mash, only strong against vehicles. Weaker than fuel rod against infantry. Wolverine: From Halo wars, basically an Anti-air Hog. Locust: From Halo Wars. Cobra: Equal to Locust. That's all, weapons are fine as they are.
So your saying... make the tank a noobish-faster than players-splatter capable-noob weapon of destruction? Think about it... there's a Spartan Laser and a Rocket in Halo. Avalanche Heavy has two Laser and 2 Rockets. A Scorpion is able to seat 6 people: Driver, Gunner, 4 on the treads. Instant p0wnage. And sorry if I sound mean, just typing makes everyone sound less enthusiastic.
oh i see well i could still be helpful. 1 splaser or 1 rocket launcher usually doesn't take down a tank, and it depends where the people are sitting if they will die or not. but I want somewhere for the flag/bomb carrier to sit
