So as you may now know from the other thread I posted, I'm going off to college. I'm thinking about getting a new, nice headset - like turtle beach or something. I'm doing this because if I wanna game I don't want to have to deal with turning it down or just not playing at all. So I have two questions:

    1. Do you think this is a good idea/necessary?

    2. If you answered "Yes" to the first question, what kind of headset do you recommend I get? (cheaper is always better, but I also want quality. I'm gonna set a price limit of $100)

I suggest the turtle beach x1 earforce. I have it, the sound is amazing for both the game and voice. It's awesome for late night gaming and when you don't want to bother anyone. It also improves your gameplay because you can hear EVERYTHING. the awesome part is its only 59.99 or so I think...
The only con is its wired :/
but it also works for pc, so that kinda makes up for it.

I would suggest on getting some sort of gaming headset. I just got my own pair of Turtle Beach X1's they are amazing... I much rather wearing those over the lame ones you get with your xbox. Personally if you are okay with wires then get a wired pair, since they are more reliable and much cheaper. If you go with Turtle Beach X1's you can buy them in some stores (Bestbuy/futureshop and I have heard some other stores carry them) Video Games & Toys: Xbox 360: Turtle Beach Earforce X1 Headphones (XBOX 360) | Best Buy Canada Web Store <-- that is Canadian store seeing as I'm Canadian
    Hope I helped

i don't NEED one per se. the mic that came with my xbox is super unreliable. i got a wireless mic awhile ago and it works fine. the only reason i'm asking is if you think it would be necessary to get at college so i don't disturb my roommate or anything.

A minimum solution would be the Turtle Beach X1 ($60), but I highly recommend you add to your price cap an extra $50 (for $150) and get the Tritton AX Pro (review on my blog). If you need something wireless, get the Turtle Beach X4 (you can get it refurbished for $150, new for $200).
