This is a race map I have created, it is my very first one so it is alittle bit small so check it out and tell me what you think. Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details YouTube - Halo 3 - Twisted Speedway
HOLY **** FIRE RECON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a more serious note, I like this track although it could never be done with big parties because of how narrow it is. I like how you incorporated bigger jumps though, not very many race tracks have them. But for your first, I think you did a great job, the banked turn looks very smooth.
This isn't terrible for your first race map, but you definitely have A LOT of room to improve. For future tracks (or a V2) nix the rhythm section. OR. Don't call your map *insert word here* Speedway. Rhythm sections, especially ones like yours, should be reserved for the maps that are dedicated to plain debauchery (aka challenge maps) than general tracks. Your jumps also need some work. Hard landings, like some of the ones you have, are not okay. Especially ones that risk flipping, and/or going off the track. Make the landings smoother (curved) or at least a shield door to keep those hard landings clean. Also, when going up a "hill" you can't have instantaneous hard angles. Make them a smooth curve upwards. Sure they can be fast, but not an angle to the track instantly. On the turn right after the rhythm section... give them more room. Having to slow down and turn is always a pain, and with several racers it can lead to collisions. OVERALL, a decent first racetrack (compared to others first tracks... this is fairly good) but it leaves for a load of room to improve. Keep it at it and I look forward to your next track. 5/10 P.S.: As I've found, making racetracks requires an extreme amount of patience and work ethic. Getting the perfect turn/track/whatever can take hours. Bleh. Edit: Also, including flaming recon in a video/pics doesn't increase the quality of your track. It just kinda makes the maker look bad. (for lack of a better word.)
This track is decent for a first track but it could use a lot of improvements in a v2 like stated above. I would suggest keeping the track all the same width throughout the entire track, rather than having the sections where it is only single wide and people pretty have to wait in line to go across them. It may work okay if you are racing alone, but if you are in a group and racing with other people like in your video, it might be more enjoyable if everyone has a fair shot and enough room to drive. I like the banked turn in the beginning that has a gap and transitions you back on to flat ground - that is cool. PS - I was watching the video..and why does everyone start with a flame thrower in the beginning? Just wondering.
Not to start anything, but I agree with Flair. The only reason people want flaming Recon in their map pictures is because it makes people like little kids want to play the map. There is no other reason for it. As for the map, you lack fluent transitions and consistency. It is an okay map, but everything in it has been done before. No originality, no aesthetics; no download.
yeah, I'd have to agree with pro forge. It isn't the smoothest track, and in your video i saw i few people fall off. just showing how influent it can be.
