Cool, thanks GF300. I'm sorry about spawns right now. Some of them were moved around a bit, and when it came to making respawning influencers (for CTF and ect.) I actually had to get rid of a few spawn points. The map is actually maxed out. I would have to delete a few things on the map, which wouldn't be too tough a choice (I don't know if you noticed the wall, but it'a a little dodgey). I think there's a total of 40 or 40+ spawn points, but they're generally near the bases. I might need to move them and add more. Quick question, (I don't know why I never tested this out) can you spawn from a Spawn Area object, or do you have to place specific Spawn Points?
Spawn areas are a very tricky thing to understand and use correctly. You need spawn points inside a spawn area if you want players to spawn there. Another relatively unknown problem with spawn areas is the fact that you have to have the "bottom" section of a spawn area set to at least 5 or 10, so the spawn area actually touches the ground. (There is a small gap between the ground and the spawn area that won't allow players to spawn on the ground unless it is burrowed into the ground.) I hope I've helped. If you're still confused on the subject, we have a forging 101 section here dedicated to spawn areas. If you still need help after that, feel free to PM me. I'd be more than happy to help.
So Spawn Area will ONLY work if there are no Spawn Points? Hmm... so putting a Spawn Area on the ground, then Spawn Points onto one of my structure made on Foundry would simply result in nobody spawning at the Spawn Areas? I need to go look at that Forging 101 thing... I've got most of the tricks down except for spawning.
Basicaly a spawn zone forces the game to use respawn points within the spawn zone. With out the spawn zones, the game uses the furthest away spawn point from the enemy. Spawn zones help counter this and allow you to spawn at various places, instead of 2 or 3. I found I only spawned in 3 different places at the most when I played it. But spawn points are still needed. There is a good article on this I read yesterday. Just use the search function on the forum and you should find it amongst the unrelated stuff.
Incorrect. Spawn points are needed in a map no matter what. Spawn areas effect the spawn points.... Think of it like this: You have two spawn points, one is inside of a spawn area, the other isn't. You will spawn more often on the spawn point within the spawn area than the one sitting outside of it.
hello necro post. but on tho the topic of the map, the power weapons seem pretty close together. you seem like you put a lot of thought into the map though.
The unsymmetrical design is phenomenal, great job. If you were to just add some more geo merging and cleaner looking interlocking, you could have a featured map. 5/5 on the expected unsymmetrical game play.
