I know this may have been discussed many times before and was a large rumor going around but i could not find a thread that wasnt necroed about this and in addition i had some ideas of my own. As far as classes go the game would be civilian based. My ideas: -Born as civilian -Different Groups(almost like guilds)(guilds listed below) - UNSC - Offers a warrior oriented life. Offers Combat and a rank system addition. Offers intergalactic travel and exploration. unique armor and clothing. Retired veterans can choose next career path but overall stats that were gained in combat are capped off and dimmed a little as tho to handicap the person from war. Branches into the ODST field. - Civilian - Offers little to no combat. Offers a variety of realistic jobs. Focuses on the social aspect of life and offers you unique locations in cities. - ONI - Focuses on tech savy people. Become the pinacle of science and technology. Become part of top secret developement teams and develope unique technology available to you and only you. Unlock locations only available to ONI "spooks". Interaction is available with UNSC. - Piloting - offers the option to personally explore the world on your own. view the battlefield from your own perspective as you offer support with a variety of vehicles like, Pelicans, Longswords, Sparrowhawks and Hornets. offers retired veterans to purchase personal aircraft. Unique weapons. - Renegade - You can become the rebel of the universe. Offers special colonization spots on comets. Commondeer vehicles and sabotage ships. Your exiled from UNSC colonies but you can enter in at your own risk. You dont have to pay for manythings but are required for oportunities to come along. - Spartan - You are randomly chosen so there is only a 5% chance that you will become a Spartan while in childhood during any campaign. You are the pinacle of warfare. You are stuck in the military. Offers unique missions, oportunities and unlocks secret bases. You can train the next generation of spartans. Story Line You start as a child. Your stats start blank and you develope them. You will age slowly and soon the whole world will open up. You can purchase a flat, vehicle, a job and a life path. Flats can be on multiple planets, whether rural or urban. Vehicles range from civilian warthogs to mongooses. These are just some ideas i had but i never had the time to fully develope my ideas they were just kinda thrown together.
I'm confident that we will get an Halo RPG someday. As awful of an idea it is, it will happen. ****, we'll probably get Guitar Hero: Halo eventually.
agreed. Even when bungie discontinues halo and working on the series we will probably get games. I really hope that they come out with a decent RPG because there are so many different sides to the series they could explore with it. The idea of a civilian perspective game where you choose your destiny really intrigues me.
Except, the storyline shouldn't be so linear, it should be more like Oblivion, where it is open ended. Maybe Fallout 3 is a better comparison because the game ends when you complete the main storyline, I can't see how a Halo:RPG would continue after you complete the main storyline.
I don't know, maybe there could be expansions or extra dlc missions. Either it would end abruptly like in KoTR or continue on like oblivion. I'm hoping it'd be more like oblivion personally cause there's always loads of stuff to do even after you beat the main story line, so it was woth the retail price.
Don't give Microsoft the idea yet. Sure they'll find out eventually, but please, they already started to kill Halo with Halo: Contact Harvest, Halo: The Cole Protocol, Halo Wars, and Halo Legends. Maybe even Halo 3: ODST. Let Halo live on a little more. It deserves it. Hopefully it will be Mass Effect in style.
Yeh that would be awesome. Maybe a KTOR and Mass Effect mix, but with an easier to use combat system.
What 'chu talkin' 'bout Willis? The Halo Books never killed the series. I personally really like the books. Halo Wars was fun, and got us away from the FPS that we all love and hate. Now, Legends is another story. Legends is the pure money making franchise killing addition to the franchise. That's all I can see that will kill Halo.
The books couldn't have destroyed Halo because it talks about other characters and intensifies the storyline. Halo Wars also brings out a different perspective of the original Halo series. Halo Wars and the books just gives us a whole view of the Halo universe. Halo Legends, well it's just anime version of the in-between parts of the Halo games. I'm not going to judge that yet because it's not out yet for viewing. But reading the books and playing Halo Wars excites me because they make the plots intertwined.
