^^ that was all from juggernaut's "swimsuit model" thread earlier today. I know that the Icequiem's cnc is working pretty well, but I think people get the most satisfaction from their work when people actually take the time to go into threads and post cnc in there. I suggest we form a group to do this. we can create a template for cnc.. whatever. if we create a cnc guidelines group thread where we can make sure everyone is still working hard to give cnc, we might get a stickied thread here since there is only one sticky in the main gna section. now, im gonna be busy today, so please discuss this and come to whatever decisions you may. i am in no way the leader of this group, but i will humbly and gratefully help head this is you need a leader.. i don't know if you have noticed but i can be pretty wordy so can do some writing and such.. anyways, il check back on this thread this afternoon and see what has been decided. I am in for whatever comes up here. i would love to get some community spirit going by trying to work to make your work more appreciated and helped out with.
This is a great idea. I think that it would be great if instead of how Icequiem is 2 good graphics people, we should allow people of all colors and creeds to have input no matter how much experience they have or if their art may not be considered "amazing". It would be good to hear from everyones different artistic styles and opinions. One suggestion is to limit the amount of cnc per piece of art somehow. That way ppl do not get too overwhelmed by too many different perspectives, but just enough to keep them fresh minded and to keep improving. That's all I could think of for now.
Well, it is good for everyone, even people with little graphics experience, to be able to CnC, but to be honest, the reason why I love the CnC from Icequiem thread is that Ice and Hells are great graphics people, who always give good CnC and tips for improvement (which is the main thing I try to get from the CnC that people give). I think that this whole CnC project could be handled by having a GnA variation on the Review Hub. That way, a few people who have shown that they give good and helpful CnC can take submissions for CnC and handle them there. This could be problamatic in terms of possibly taking away all of the posts from the main GnA section though...
Sounds as though it could work. Although I believe that the members should only be people who have proved that they know what they are talking about (have experience), and aren't completely rude in the way they say it. I agree its frustrating when people don't CnC, very frustrating actually.
Yeah, I may have sounded really vague on what I said, but that's pretty much what I meant. Cnc from all kinds of ppl, but yes, ppl that aren't rude or blunt and can provide good advice (whether it's a certain style they like or various styles)
I'm in. And for the critiquing I think we should focus on these 5 essentials: -Lighting -Flow -Depth -Coloring -Text Other suggestions?
Hmm interesting, that would be like the CnC Guild lmao... But seriously, I think that CnC should be harsh, speaking generally here, if you can't take it positively too bad. Good idea though.
Extending on my previous comment and Hells', we could have guidelines like that and we would have to be very harsh. But to keep the nub complaints to a minimum we should also say one good thing about the sig. This will keep spirits up and we'd be thought better of.
That is a really good idea, and for people who do take constructive criticism hard, it would keep them coming back and we'd no be just some group that failed. lol
I'm thinking less of a "group" you know with a thread and all. But rather a "group" like a social group that you get invited to join or ask to join, where people CnC the the actual thread of the signature.
The problem with that is that it diverts traffic away from the actual GnA section of the forums, which would really destroy this section... that would make it so that people don't post here except for contests/battles and to make requests at sig shops.
The CnC threads would still be in the GnA section. The only think discused in the social group would be new members, people who are members but not working, and basic running of the group.
If that is the case, then isn't that basically just telling experienced people to CnC everything, instead of skipping over CnC threads?
No, well kinda. The people in the group wouldn't have to have graphics experience, just prove that they can give alright CnC.
Personally speaking, if you're going to tell someone how to do something you better have experience in that field first. People who want to join the group need to know what they're talking about, seeing how I see tons of members who just throw around terms and don't even use them correctly. Also, I agree with being harsh with CnC. People need to know that if it's terrible, it's terrible and they really need to keep working. But you HAVE to at least say some good things too, reinforce the good and expel the bad, that way they know what to keep doing and what to change. A guideline to go by is an alright idea. Something like what God4 posted, but more elaborate seeing how the group will have to pay very close attention to detail.
If you need help with the Guidelines/Rules and anything like that im willing to lend my service. Just need to know the outlines of what you guys would need thats all
Would this CnC be for everything in the GnA? Like Sigs, LP, Drawings, BG, etc.? If it is I can CnC drawings and art pieces.
I have a good idea, how bout we all be one BIG group and stay with the normal CnC EDIT: IMO, I think this is just gunna turn into another "status" part here in FH.
