    OLNBC

    object limit number blocked crypt
created by MetaWaddleDee and A RedBull Can

The blocked crypt is the star of the show, the OLN is just there to make sure you can actually build on the level.

    Information:
OLNBC is a canvas map with a special addition to it, the crypt hole is blocked off with one OLN
blue column and one OLN red column. because it is blocked off with the columns it almost looks like
there is no hole into the crypt! [IMG]

This map is also a great canvas for all of your (middle layer) sandbox needs! This is because every
OLN object is stacked off to the side of the level.

The objects are floating pretty high off of the ground so if you do want to build something under
    the objects, you can!

all of the spawn points, weapons and vehicles take their own box.

...And that empty huge block in picture two has all of the gametype specific objects (i.e. hill
    points, starting points, etc.)

    Things to know:

(I'm pointing out a few flaws with the column hole cover)
The columns are both different heights to make sure there is no (I don't know what to call it but
when they both occupy the same space and flash). That height difference is the closest they can
get (please correct me if I'm wrong), because the way forge saves vector points, those are the
    closest vector points in forge.
But trust me, you can't see this in a game unless you look for it.

    Both columns are OLN
    (it's not impressive anymore)

Also note that the player is looking downwards to begin with.

Overall it has much less problems than the flat block

    We are open to suggestions!

    Download Here

And if you want some fun stand on top of the chopper and flip the Warthog.

Even though this has been done many times, I like this one. The floating objects off to the side is helpful to keep them close but out of the way. I REALLY like the crypt hole covering. It makes it stick out less and blend in. Good geomerging.

The focus of this map is more about covering the crypt with the OLN columns, but since I would need to do it on a mid level canvas, I decided to make my own canvas, with the blocks floating out of the way.

I'd have to say that I'm impressed with this. I have never seen a template like this. Either a template is infinite budget glitched or guardians blocked, or just a blank level with all of the objects deleted. But I can honestly say that this is just a neat way of putting things together to help the forgers with and only with the middle layer of sandbox. But I could think of no easier template to use than this if I was working on the middle layer of sandbox. Nice job at rearranging everything for conveniant use.

Well that is nice to know but you could post any thing in there and as long as some one else hasnt posted it it will mostly always get into the list.

Like I said earlier Its not about the stacked objects on the side, its about how the crypt is blocked off, so if you want to build on this map so that YOUR map has a clean crypt block-off, you can!

Well, if those items stacked up in the side dont affect the map at all... then why you leave em there?

PS the crypt hole is superb awsome.

Very artistic way of sealing off the crypt, possibly unique. Good work on fitting all those vehicles onto a single vlock as well. And for all the people confused about the stacked items, deleting the original sandbox items lowers the number of objects you can have on the map. All in all, original and smooth.

It has to do with the way forge works. Because of the nature of map making, there has to be different kinds of limits to the amount of items you can place on the map. There are three. The first one is the amount of specific items you can place on the map, e.g. you can only place 4 grav. lifts on a map. This limit stops you from, lets say, spawning 200 fusion coils, which would freak out the processor in your Xbox.
The second limit is the budget (which can be glitch-avoided), where every object that you place nibbles away a little bit of cash. How much cash is dependant of the object you place. The amount of budget you have depends on the map size, so you cannot place as much objects on guardian as on valhalla.
The third limit you cannot see or find out very easily. Its called the object limit number, OLN for short. The number of the oln determines how many objects you can place on the map. Think of it as slots, whenever you spawn an object, a slot is used, and whenever you delete an object, one slot is open again. Now, for some kind of reason, all the objects that are initially placed on sandbox (and maybe other maps, I don't know) have their own slots. So you could use the entire OLN PLUS the initial objects, instead of only the OLN if you have deleted the initial objects.
If you have stacked the initial objects, you have a nice open, clear space to use, with the initial objects closeby. Allowing you to forge even more.

And that's why people stack the initial objects on Sandbox. It is really helpfull, especially with the spawn points, which would, if deleted, take up a big part of your OLN.

I really like this map, I whish bungie would have made the crypt hole like this.

Easily one of the best Canvas Maps for Sandbox so far. I'll be using this from now on.

Sweet you put it up. I really shouldn't have too much credit with this one, even though I did all the busy work in moving everything with ya.

This really has made me want to start building in the middle section of Sandbox instead of using the Crypt or the Skybubble because the column just makes it seem like there isn't anything beneath you.

I am now using this for every map I will make. This is so cool, so correct me if I'm wrong but the gaurdians ARE blocked?

    The guardians are not blocked

but, If enough people want the template with blocked guardians I could easily do it.

I saw this kind of thing for the competitive map you were building, and it actually makes everything so much better. It's nice not to see a random yellow cube in the ground, and I also like how it doesn't affect your movement with gross bumps. Great job on this, I'm definetly using it from now on for maps on normal sandbox. I wonder why this hasn't been thought up of before?

Those objects are pulled from the default Bungie Sandbox map. They are automatically glitched in a way that they do not count towards the total item limit that can be placed on the map (which is somewhere around 250 or something I think). This canvas is for people who are making a map that uses a lot of pieces, because instead of spawning new blocks, they can pull them from the pile neatly organized in the sky, without adding to the total item limit. Hope this helps.
