I don't know, it would depend on how you define "the best". I'm pretty sure none of the characters are better than each other at anything, though I'm pretty sure they all start with different weapons in campaign... I think you get to play as most of them, so I'm sure they're all pretty much the same. If you mean which one I personally would enjoy playing as the most, I would have to say either Dutch or the Rookie. Dutch because of his attitude, The Rookie because of his silent and cool demeanor. If you mean starting weapon choice, I'd have to say Romeo. I love sniping, and he's the team sniper. So in Campaign I'm sure his missing is mostly a sniping mission.
Clearly the rookie. All the others have their specialties, yet the rookie doesn't. He's an all-around ODST, and the hero of the story. Obviously he is the best. but he'll need his teammates to succeed.
The rookie is the most awesome, but i took a liking to Dutch for firefight purposes. [skull on helmet reminds me of band logo]
Whichever one I play as will be the best. XD I wouldn't know how to tell if any one of them is the best since they aren't killing each other. They're not participating in mortal combat.
My favorite is probably Mickey- The dork with the rocket launcher. That is an awesome persona- The geek gets all of the women because he knows how to arm explosives into a building! But Buck is in charge of all of the ODST's in this squad so he would probably considered "the best" (DARE is above that though...) I dont like DARE though- When she takes off her helmet, she looks like Samus... I hate seeing that face....
Rookie. All Around player. Unless its skill based, like Mass Effect, as long as you play good, the Rookie will play good. 'Nuff said.
My personnel fav is Dutch. O dont know why, but I prefer him because he's the heavy duty ODST, he always has a spartan laser with him by the looks of the ViDocs. He sort of reminds me of the heavy in Team Fortress 2 for some strange reason
The Rookie; The all around good soldier with no specific weapon to use. Basically the assault class soldier. You know, the person that knows how to use all the weapons and didn't receive any special training for a specific weapon.
In my opinion, Mickey will be the best. By watching videos i have concluded that he will have a rocket launcher and a pistol. I think this is a very deadly combo. Rocket launcher for heavy enemies like vehichles and chieftain and whatnot, and the pistol to easily take down light infanty(grunts, jackals, drones). I would have gone with Dutch for his spartan laser, but it looks like his side arm is the smg. Believe me, i love the smg, just not a much as that new auto-mag. I'm going to be deadly with Mickey.
I like ODST, so I like them all. But since Rookie is basically ODST version of Master Chief for he is Main Character, I voted for him.
I voted Rookie. What I really hope is that all the characters have a lot of in-game banter and interaction, like in GOW. That was always one of the best parts of that game and I hope Bungie picked up on it.
It doesn't matter... when you play in firefight as them they all have the same stats and stuff... but I suppose rookie would be the best. He's pretty much the swiss army knife since he's fair all around.
I'd say Buck, because he is the most experienced, he served in numerous battles and he hasn't cracked yet after seeing all the planets glassed. I can see why people would choose the rookie, considering you get to play as him.
Lol. Dutch FTW! He blows up a d**n bridge with a handheld weapon of mass destruction. Plus as some people said, his helmets pretty cool. But in terms of my normal Halo hype, and generally my favorite role in FPS games, Romeo's my best choice. I love sitting back with active camo on, crouching on top of a tall hill with grass covering me up, and just taking out the other team (or in campaign, those effin Brutes). So Dutch and Mickey for me. I'm pretty much RightSideTheory, as it'll be fun blowing everything up but a lot better acting a support role.
