Personally, I think this whole section of the forums is a waste. I would love to appreciate some actual artwork, but sadly there is none.
Well thats a little harsh. Artwork can be done digitally through vectoring, large art making, and even painting. Sadly, those threads don't get half the attention the sig threads get.
Yes, I do and can apreciate digital mediums. Sig making is not artwork, rather taking a stock and manipulating it, like a digital collage at best. That's my take on it anyways. It gets tiring when people expect attention for something trivial. Sigs are not art.
I agree that there are way to many sigs. I don't agree that they aren't art. Let us PLEASE move on to something different. Everyone is either doing the Major League type pics or sigs. Can we please do something different? There are plenty other things to make. Move past the basics of Photo manipulation. You don't see much of this in any graphical based industry. Why do it all the time?
I consider sigs a preview of art. Most large are pieces are similar to sigs, just larger. People use the same techniques they would on a large art, as they would with a sig.
Eh, I don't know about that. If I saw a 1024x1280 wallpaper that was made like a sig I think my head would explode. However, I do agree it's a form of art because the people who make them think it is. That's good enough for me. Also, coming into a GnArts forum telling everyone that what they do there isn't art, is kinda weird... even if you are a journalist... or something...
That is way off. There are a few off the signatures here that are hand-made, and every now and then I post my artwork that are hand painted, along with the other people who post their photographic art. But if you're here to ignore that, and you want real art, get the **** out of here. You know you won't get that on a site filled with kids. Go to deviantART or something.

Eh, I guess...It gets so tiring coming in here waiting for something amazing and being disappointed when people expect attention for "previews of art". Sure, some people want critiques, but the majority want attention and it shows. All I'm saying is don't put this section to waste for something that isn't important. I already stated that I appreciate what's been hand made.
So you think that the things made here don't include any talent? I'd like to see some of you guys who aren't normally around here to come and show us something "talented." Also since fh isn't a graphic arts forum, you shouldn't expect to see things that are completely amazing.
Making signatures do require talent, that is quite obvious. I don't see why you don't view signatures as artwork, I sure do.
I never said that. I just it's quite impossible considering the fact that this is a site that's for gaming. Not some art studio. And it being filled with kids who don't have patience doesn't help it either.
I wish I had artistic talent, I try so hard, but I then relize that I will never be talented in this area...
