Escape - Version 1.9. The last map I made failed, badly. So I give you the new escape. I spent more time on this one. Any suggestion please let me know. It's a pretty decent map. But you haven't quite taken advantage to the elevation of sandbox. And there are WAAY too many power weapons (5), and the only non-power weapon is a BR. Give people a little more with diversity! Besides that there is also an over-abundance of grenades. 12 frags and 8 plasmas?? Cut that number in half. The equipment is obviously to add diversity to your all-BR fights, why do that when you can just add diversity to the weapons? You'll probably get alot more comments like this.
Erm... I'm sure two power weapons per team is fine if only one's contested. Especially on a big map like this... Plus, you might need them to balance out the warthogs and hornet on such a sparse map. That said, I'm liking this a lot. It looks neat if a little unfocused, but I like that in my maps too My main concern is the lack of variety in weapons. Just straight out BR battles might get boring after a while, as the other guy said. I'd recommend some carbines towards the middle if you want to keep that BR battle ethos, although some needlers and maybe a brute shot or two would go well without completely unbalancing everything. All in all, nice work. I wish I could make my maps more open like this. -_-
Escape v1.9 will be up tomorrow or maybe late today. It will contain: Less BR's again (maybe only 8) For those BR's which are removed a FEW carbines will replace them Two Needlers (I'm liking the idea of a needler on this map) Two Brute shots. (The Original map had two brute shots but I removed them) (They will go where the Missile Pods use to be)
I was going to say you need more diversity, regarding weapons but you seem to have sorted that. The map itself is good, and cleanly forged. My critcisms would be that it seems quite flat and one dimensional, also theres nothing which makes it stand out from other maps.
Personally, when I saw the title, I thought this might be some clever VIP map or Territories game. I was a /little/ disappointed with just a plain slayer/ctf map, but that's probably just me being overly optimistic. I might rehahs this idea in the future, thans for the inspiration
