What we can expect in fall for the xbox dashboard update. I for one think that this will be a pretty sweet update. I've never been one to care for the avatars, maybe it was because there wasn't enough selection? I don't think that I will be buying anything from the avatar marketplace any time soon, but the addition of Games on Demand sound good to me. I'm not sure if Netflix will only be available in the U.S; if anyone knows feel free to comment. What I am personally most hyped about is the Games On Demand feature. We can finally buy games with microsoft points. It's gonna be a great update. Can't wait for it.
I'm not really too excited about anything that was announced. I just hope the update makes my xbox guide stop freezing.
Wow, these improvements are exactly what the dashboard needs. Getting reconnected to your party when it disconnects you? That alone makes me want this update now. Lately, my respect for Microsoft has been growing immensely.
The whole automatically getting restored to your party will be a big help seen as how I am constantly getting disconnected.
I think that the auto-reconnect feature is good. I am most excited about the Games on Demand feature, because it completely eliminates the hassle of having to go to the store and trying to find the game you want. I hope XBL becomes more and more like Steam. The downside of the whole digital download feature is that each game is about 6 gb, so if you have a 20 gb hard drive like I do, you can only hold 3 games max. Looks like its time to get a 120 gb HD...
This update sounds really cool! I can't wait for games on demand and new avatar options. Personally, I think they should re-format the xbox to make it easier to move information from one hard drive to another. Sure, it's a hardware issue mostly, but there should be a way to temporarily upload your saved files to a server and then move them to another hard drive.
YES, now i get to spend money on cloths for a stupid online avatar. i didnt know that microsoft could sink so low.
Forgot about that, it's up now. This is one of my favorite additions as well, as I am constantly disconnecting when I use my 360 in my room. The connection there is terrible for some reason.
Pretty cool update, the avatar stuff sound pretty nice. Although, would there be a cost for them? I see the movie watching sort of useless for me, I usually just play games and not sit and watch Netflix videos. Such a thing to sit down with a few buddies and watch a vid would have to be scheduled ahead of time.
This update really looks promising. The reconnecting parties, notifications when LIVE is about to run out, and the friends list sorting sounds cool. Hopefully, you can sort by game, but it's really not a big deal to sort through 20-30 people. Oh well!
Wow, looks like they idiot proofed voice messages, perfect for me since I always forget when my mic is on or off I think that paying for Avatar clothing is lame, and I'll probably never end up doing it, but the Awardable within games cloths sounds neat. Like achievements that you can show off with? I dunno. Microsoft seems to think this "On Demand" idea is working well if they are offering full games. This update seems cool, can't wait to get it, or at least a release date to look forward to
Here's a preview of how everything will work in the new update. YouTube - Xbox 360 new 2009 Dashboard Walkthrough
I'm glad that they are going to start making Games on Demand. It's extremely annoying to have to go out to buy a new disc when the goddamned reader scratches up a disc
My main worry is that the games you download will take up 6 gigs of memory like when you install a game, or perhaps even more.
the update is coming august 11th it will not have the new facebook but it will have the avatar store i know
