Creator (s): xXMILLS17Xx Race Track Name: Avengence Map Name: Foundry Gametype:http://www.halotracks.org/gametype.htm Description: This ractrack holds 4 racers with its uncheatable out of the way starting gate that will let you go after 10 seconds with will be signaled to you by lights, everybody respawns behind their mongoose and gets straight on, when everybody is set free by the double wall that pops up under you to bring you up to the height of the track all 4 players speeds of up the first hill, then take a left banked turn the quickly turns onto a right banked turn which will take you onto the next short straight, then theres a right banked turn which takes you down to the floor of foundry where you turn right, using a sheild door if you need to although this doesnt happen very often, then you have a choice of 2 left turns to make, one is shorter but you lose speed to take it, and the other is longer but loses no speed, they both lead you to oposite sides of a tight turn that is a straight that will lead you to one last right banked turn that has shield doors yet again for if and only if you need them, that takes you to the uncheable checkpoint allocated above the starting gate, here a grav-lift/shield door bounce send you back to half way up the first hill, some people moan sayin that this is bumby etc... but if you line your little arrow in the middle of the screen with the front of your mongoose when you land, unless your a really bad driver you will be able to land with a slight boost. The overall track is smooth, 100% boredered, and smooth. Pictures: What inspired your creation? Nothing inspired my creation, but i didnt want to do a standard racetrack like all the rest but just with different corners, so i thought about it and i definatly wanted to use a uncheatable starting gate which is out of the way and signaled by light, this was because whenever i race tracks(normally with my brother) he likes cheating at the start, and on xbox live as there is lag in the voice communication a gate like this would be the only possible way for there to be a fair race. Also i made the multi choice area to make it stand out from the rest. How long did it take to create? Ive tried making this track several times but as im pretty sure i have ocd if one box gets out of place i dont have the patience to try again, but when i finally tried this version it took about 8 hours all toghter which was spread over about a month as i dont get much time on my xbox due to girlfriend, coursework. What aspect took the longest to get right? The interlocking looks very clean and the wall is a good idea for an uncheatable starting point. But the map lacks uniqueness and blends in with the crowd of other average racetracks. Having square turns is'nt the most fun way since there's no danger and really no challenge. It's good for an early on map but it lacks that something that makes a map that much better.
i agree with you that it may some what blend into the mediocre maps because of its square turns, but i still think all maps should have a similar starting gate, by the way lol to your signature, and check what happens if you try to cheat pretty funny
The interlocking looks very neat on this map, but the map lacks anything special. Something that makes the map unique and fun. This race track is very well designed though and I like the uncheatable starting point.
i think if i had to point out something special about this map, is the fact that 1. it has the uncheatable start you mentioned 2.it is retard proof ( i.e 100% boredered 3. there is a multi choice area that doesn't affect your lap time, but does give a variation to gameplay yes i do agree it was my first track, and at the moment i'm trying to get out of the habbit of making everything neat and order before i make another map (after my latest one) in a way i do think the 'boxy' feel gives a slightly different feel for people racing it
