Move to Aesthetics I spent 4 days making this map. It's a pirate ship floating in Foundry with man cannons leading up to it. I saw the massively downloaded "Pirate Sharks" on Bungie Favorite Archives, and was dismayed when I saw how pathetic it was. So I thought I'd make a real pirates map (and game). The ship's body is formed pretty well, and includes a cargo room under the deck, a poop (lololol) deck, and the captain's quarters. I think this map is better than every other pirate map out there. I used barrels for the masts (you can't knock them over); the usual forge glitches to intersect object sand get them to float, forming a nice overall shape; and some other neat things. I'm still trying to get the best game type I can, but even then it should still be pretty fun. Thanks. This belongs in the casual maps section. You might want to give some more description and more screenshots. Maybe some gameplay screenshots and details too?
more screenys. Better description. How is this better than all the others? Any weapons on map? More screenys.
Wow, I love how being a mod gets you more posts and downloads. Great community. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=834
Coolant was/is a Mason. He has been around a long time, and is a respected member of the Forge community. Don't be mad at him because his map got noticed more than yours...even though you just released yours and Coolant released his on Christmas Day. But you have done a good job here. Looks well put together. I'd like to see those sails interlocked to look a little more realistic though. And as said before, we'd all appreciate a more in-depth description of your creation.
the Masons were a group that focused on aesthetics. Creating beautiful, pieces of forge art. You don't apply, read the front page for more information.
Ok welp first of all I have to say this nice map. But as stated by everyone else you need more screenshots and a better description. It also need to be under casual or aesthetic. I do have one other thing to say too, you need some manners. You just posted your map recently, so don't expect everyone to love it right off the bat. Also I don't think insulting other members' works will get you to be a mason anytime soon, because you will become resented by the community. You also shouldn't ask what people think of the map in post after post. It's already in a thread and the threads are for getting feedback on your maps. Basically what I'm trying to say is be patient and polite, you and you're maps aren't going to be popular right off the bat. Also asking people to keep posting just to add posts and make your map more popular, isn't the right way to advertise your map. Hope you take my advise, good luck with future forge creations.
amen! i almost posted a reply very similiar, but i found trueblue wolfs just before i did, and ya, i second what he said also that means i am quoting, nice map i mean it, nice map
I'm sorry, it just seemed like his got a lot of attention and was featured because he was a mod, and some of the members were just posting/downloading in a sort of ass kissing kind of way. I'm not saying his map was bad, it's just not good enough to be featured on a site like this and get so many downloads/comments. EDIT: Would someone move this thread already?
they rnt downloading it to be kiss asses, they downloaded it because it was good, and he was a mason. TrueBlueWolf stated very kindly wut u need to stop. but it is a good map
No, it's actually not that great. It's sorta sloppy and the shield doors as the sails look sorta bad.
that is a matter of opinion, and this has gone on long enough, quit your whining, and wait for more people to view your map, though now im sure if people read this thread, they may not even dl it...
