Sandbox Holdout v1.0

    Holdout is my first real attempt at Forging anything besides a mass of fusion coils. It was inspired by High Ground, Tomb Raider, the bunkers in StarCraft, and Aztec Pyramids. It works best with One Flag/Bomb, and with Team Slayer. It is asymetric, but can work with symmetric gametypes.

    As you can see, there is the Holdout, and then the "ruins" section, which is symmetrical.

    In the "ruins," the idea is to use cover to get up to the base, where you can jump across what originally where damaged columns into the base in a sneaky fashion.

    Columns
    Screenshot got corrupted when it uploaded to Bungie.net, will upload new one soon. You can see them right in front of the Holdout on the overview shot.
    They originally were damaged columns, but had to be changed to small columns, because the former were to easy to fall off of.

    You can go from the bottom level to the top level of the Holdout itself by going through the tilted tube corner on the right (permanent grav lift), or walking through the back tube, which has flamethrower in it.

    You can also enter the base at the Kill Ball level.

    I think it looks pretty cool. :)

    Once at the Kill Ball bottom level, you can either go through the tunnel to the Shotgun and up the stairs, or take the grav lift through the tilted tube corner on the side.

    Once on the upper level, be sure to pick up one of two Snipers with 4 shots each to defend the Holdout. You can shoot through the Wall, Slit.

    It was hard to get a good angle to take the screenshot.

    You can see the ramp on the bottom left of the screenshot. Take it up to pick up a BR and get in the Wraith.

    The Wraith can shoot at the back 2/3 of the "ruins." And it can't leave that platform without dying, or flipping and getting stuck.

    So...
    I don't have any action shots yet, and this is only 1.0. It'd be nice if you could let me know what you think of weapon placement and spawning. I know in a couple of places I need to move stuff a little bit to give it a polished look, and so that grenades don't go where they shouldn't. Expect v1.1-v2.0 by the end of the month.

    Once again, this is my first ever Forge. It took about 10 hours total. I'm at the Item Limit, but still have budget left over. Probably should've done the glitch, but I didn't know about that until after I started.

    I plan on making some official/specifically designed game types later, and setting it up for infection.

    Welcome to forgehub!
    it seems that your new here and haven't quite gotten around to read the rules yet.
    its fine, i did the same thing...
    This is how you post pictures.

    any1 else posting about lack of pics will be considred spam

    also here is another list of things you will want to include:

    weapons list - with respawn times and extra clips
    same with equipment and vehicles
    basic description
    whether its symmetric or asymmetric
    what kinds of variants the map is for (slayer king of the hill etc.)

    Your pictures are messed up, either go to the forums for help, or you can watch a youtube video which will help you properly make a post.

    I see you fixed your pictures, i hoped i helped in a way....Well i like the way that there are so many platforms to jump on. Some small cover on the road and platforms would have been nice to balance out the fact that any team on the temple could easily use a medium ranged weapon ( Carbine or Battle Rifle ) to "pick off" any attackers. Good job and keep forging.

    Honestly, I like the design. What I don't like is all of the power weapons on the map. It is important to have a balance between reg. weapons and power weapons. Also this looks like this map could have potential for infection with the wraith being the human and all the zombie rushing towards it. But thats just my opinion...
