Everyone's talking about Heretic and Longshore but not Citadel. So What do you expect from citadel? Also why does this map get so little attention.
well i haven't really done any research but if citadel doesn't have a skull that would probably be why it doesn't get attention because most people are just in it for achievements . edit: i have stoped bitching about recon.... hum i guess ill have to deal with it. but heres a pic and by the looks of it it is a midship remake.
It honestly looks like the map with the least anticipation. It just seems pretty small from the picture- like smaller than Orbital small. That is probably why no one talks about it...
Just stop going on about Recon armour, Winner. Yes, Citadel does have a skull. There's an achoevement for getting the skull, all the Mythic maps have skulls so why on Earth would you even begin think that Citadel would not have a skull? Citadel hasn't had much attention because we were told its based on a campaign level, so theres not much new content there in terms of exploring the Halo universe. Longshore is a brand new map, not based on a campaign level so people will be speculating more. Heretic is a remake of an awesome map from Halo 2 and people are excited. So, Winner, don't just assume everyone is obssessed with Recon armour and don't go thinking we are in desperate need of more Recon armour threads.
Looks like someone has some issues. Anyway, I haven't seen the picture until just now to be honest, and I am almost suprised I haven't seen much talk about Citadel. Almost. To be honest, Citadel isn't an eye grabber. The colors are bland and flat, and you feel like you are looking at the entire map in that one picture. The lighting is nice though. But Heretic is a remake of midship, a Halo 2 classic. The new graphics are something Halo 2 players are looking forward, as well as how well it can play in Halo 3. People are also curious as to what possible changes there are (though it is supposedly only the platform not moving, nothing else). And Longshore looks massive, with so many unexplored areas that many are eager to get their hands on. Then there are the forge objects it can have. So that is why I don't think Citadel is getting much attention. It looks like a Lone Wolves map, and not many people care for that gametype or type of map. But hey, we'll see.
this is entirely false. additionally, this was based on the factorys in the beginning of "The Storm". Citadel was my highest anticipated. Until I saw the picture. Another small map. Another bland color scheme. Another Forerunner styled map. Rockets next to overshield. The name is cool, the achievement is one ive been waiting for forever [Pull]. However, Im just sick and tired of tiny maps with forerunner themes and dull colors. Halo used to be about massive levels with tons of vehicles and weapons and areas to explore. This will be forgotten and never played, just like cold storage.
just because a map is based off something doesn't mean it isn't a new map. Is Citadel not a new map because it was based off the level The Covenant? Was Rats Nest not a new map when it was released because it was based off the campaign level Crows Nest?
Actually, Longshore has its own theme. "The Storm" is in Voi. Longshore takes place on the docks of Old Mombasa. But you were pretty right about Citadel. Citadel is not a highly anticipated map because it seems to have a pretty basic design. Its like having a map pack with The Pit- its a good map, but its pretty basic and boring because its designed as almost an arena with little opportunities such as forging, hiding spots, secrets, gameplay (doesnt look like it supports over a 5v5)
Yea I understand what you mean i looked around some old H2 maps and it seems like everysingle map except for one was larger than all of sandbox. I just hope theres something else to t thats not being shown. From lloking at it though it llloks just like construct so nothing new really in scenery which makes me question how long are people going to play it for.

No one wanted to post the pic? Now. I think you're all jumping to conclusions unless you all know something I don't. First of all, we can't really tell it's size from that one pic. It may seem small, but we can't tell for sure. The color scheme may be meh, but I think it's fine.
To tell the truth, I'm most excited for Citadel. Looks like a great map with lots of fun, and it seems as if it would make a good conquest map canvas. I'm excited at all for Heretic, and as for Longshore, it doesn't look like a large map (from the picture they showed).
I'm looking forward to heretic and I'm assuming theres alot more to longshore that isn't visible, but no that i see what bungie said about it I;m feeling a litle dissapointed because what a small map used to be is now different from the extremely small maps we now get sometimes, and i feeel like we need more large maps that you can play btb on.
