The Political Compass - Test This will measure your standpoint in society in terms of your beliefs. It plots the graph on two axes, instead of just the X axis (left (labour) and right(conservative)). This test is a bit British, but it should work for Americans etc. too (assuming weed is illegal where you live lol) My graph: My graph depicts me as centre left. So, where do you stand?
A Word about Neo-cons and Neo-libs U.S.neo-conservatives, with their commitment to high military spending and the global assertion of national values, tend to be more authoritarian than hard right. By contrast, neo-liberals, opposed to such moral leadership and, more especially, the ensuing demands on the tax payer, belong to a further right but less authoritarian region. Paradoxically, the "free market", in neo-con parlance, also allows for the large-scale subsidy of the military-industrial complex, a considerable degree of corporate welfare, and protectionism when deemed in the national interest. These are viewed by neo-libs as impediments to the unfettered market forces that they champion. When I say no matter what party you vote for, you get the same thing; this is what I mean.
i expected myself to be more right wing than that... i consider myself to be an extreme consevative republican.
Same Thread I tried starting this same thread with the same test a while back. Here is the original thread: Are you a Democrat or a Republican? Ever wonder? Take the test... ...and here's my result:
Falling Leftward Weird. Yeah, you posted in my thread from January. Looks like you are slowly aligning yourself with the Dalai Lama and Gandhi.
In all honesty I don't understand the whole left wing/right wing libertarian/authoritarian. But apparently I'm somewhat left wing/libertarian, yet really I guess I am more centrist than anything.
I really have no idea what that means. TO WIKIPEDIA!!! Edit: Seems pretty correct. I believe in personal property and such (right wing), and also prefer very many civil liberties and minimal government oversight.
