Hello everyone, I've got a small problem on my computer (not very recently) and I thought that somebody on Forge Hub would be able to help me, so here is my problem (Traduced from French):

My problem is complex. I have noticed for some time that I cannot save any files or open any files from a software. The situation is critical and makes the use of my computer almost impossible.

Here is a report from me describing the situation:
    - Windows Browser planting at saving.
    - Closing due to software delays without reply.
    - Windows browser crash when opening a file.
    - A crash occurs only when the software uses Windows to browse my computer.
    - Unable to print on Internet Explorer (thus excluding other browsers) causing the same type of crash.
    - Modification of the period before closing on Vista SP1.
    - Icon showing a white folded corner for all folders.

For example, if I create a Word document (Word 2007) and I press the floppy disk for saving, the normal window to select where to save appears. But, the window does nothing (some folder name and some icons) and the small turning circle of my mouse does not stop. Then after a small time window (and software) becomes white and a third window called "Microsoft Word 2007 not responding" appears. The only way at this point is to close and lose the document (unless the automatic restoration works).

By against I can easily open and save files with the Blender 3D software. Simply because it does not use the browser on Windows.

For against, I'm a lil' good with computers and I think I have identified the problem. One day I was doing a school homework about customizing PC versus MAC. I installed software to customize the PC. From this day as the computer is missing. In fact, I think it's a bad move on my part. I used a software package for XP to automatically change all the icons on the computer (Vista). This would have created a problem because the default icons in Vista are different from XP and the software had not taken over (normal for any animal freeware ...). The software would have corrupted the icon files, so the Windows explorer isn't taking in charge those icons.

Against by various tests I did with success. If the default's saving folder of a software is empty, this software might save in this folder. This also works if I change all the icons of folders and subfolders of the default directory for a standard icon.

Unfortunately, there are too many files in the computer to change all the icons manually. I do not want reinstalling Windows or any other similar solution. I found two possible solutions that I could try but I can't because of a lack of knowledge. A restoration software for icons or a change in the shell32 to change all the folder's icon.

Thank you in advance for your help, a headache if you have nothing to do ...
