Hey everyone, if you are un-familiar with my forge schools, view them Here . Well, Today I come to you asking for ideas, I need new ideas for tutorials. I'd credit you greatly if you could give me good ideas. Thanks.
I'd second that, and maybe how to make flat floors with the walls, like what Bungie addressed to the community a month or so back, but with video. That'd save a lot of maps from being absolute crap.
Carpet merging like where the box is so low that it looks like its part of the floor. Wiggle method merging
The Tear drop geomerging method. It still confuses me a bit, I can never get the things perfectly the way I want.
Yeh, another more in depth version of geomerging on sandbox like into the floor. And also, something that I don't think you've covered, player triggered traps and switches.
How about something like switches or traps. You could show how to make an elevator and some other common swiches and traps people like to put in maps.
I'm working on a teardrop tutorial right now, but what is this you say of a method bungie realsed? With the walls? Can anyone link me the thread they posted or at least explain it to me? Thanks everyone, you've helped me out a ton.
he means when Bungie explained in one of the weekly updates why the walls tilt ever so slightly when laid flat, and how you should rotate which side faces which way when placing them in order to minimize the bump effect. I couldnt tell ya which update it was, but it was shortly after sandbox was released.. maybe a couple weeks after, i dunno
Everyone's suggesting forge tricks, so I'd move this to forge dicussion if I were you. Show us how people make the awesome banked turns on race maps. I just can't make an object go that way!! Also, show effective ways to block off the guardian towers. It'll at least be filler. Erm, drop spawning? _____ I haven't seen many of your previous vids, so sorry if you've already done any/all of this stuff.
I think a tutorial on player spawn points would be good content for a decent length episode, a lot of competitive maps I play suffer in effective spawn placement. This would be helpful to new comers to Forge, and could clear conusion, of spawn areas for example, for others. A weapon placement tutorial could also prove useful.
Agreed. I suggest you get the tear drop merging done first and then work on an episode for spawn points. There's tons of people who don't understand them, and make great maps with **** gameplay. I don't really think a weapons placement tutorial is necessary, as long as you play test the map and see if any are too overpowering.
Maybe an advanced interlocking tutorial such as what Makisupa007 does in some of his maps or advanced aesthetics maybe? Just some ideas.
