Who cares, comments are just a place where people can say all their ignorant ****. EDIT: WTF!!! FH IS GETTING CENSORED!!!! HOLY **** EDIT: Nvm.
To censorship in general, not this particular Youtube topic: My problem with censorship, is that it accomplishes nothing. Everyone knows these words exist, and knows when they've been censored.... so why bother to censor it at all? To make you feel like a better person? Our culture isn't as timid as it once was, and instead of trying to suppress it entirely, it should be accepted, but monitored. And there are far worse phrases that don't contain any curse words at all. I ask the question: What's the point?
Censorship is a good thing in instances like this because there is a time and a place for everything, and Youtube, a site used by people of all ages, is not the place for curse words to be publicly displayed. Many children click on random links and may inadvertently be exposed to things that they really have no business being exposed to. I know that the videos aren't censored, but at least the text comments are to prevent children from seeing the garbage that people say on Youtube. Also, as others have pointed out, Youtube is a large business. They want to have a respectable company, and publicly displaying curse words isn't a way to create that positive image in the mind of the consumer.
well it doesn't matter becuae the videos themselves aren't being censored. people are more likely to watch the video than read the comments, so censoring them is pointless. If an 8 year old clicks on "show me your genitals" or something, comments are going to be the last thing that you should be worried about.
There is an option to turn it on or off. They added it so that it wouldn't offend people. Probably for the children. Quit complaining and turn it off if you care so much. And if you don't understand the logic of adding sensors then go watch the ending of South Park episode "It Hits the Fan". :lock:
