I don't feel I'm quite ready to begin forging seriously and was wondering if someone can give me some tips in-game. I'm trying to re-make this map as something to start forging with: YouTube - Cheese vs bam (high ground) This is the best I can find. Another guy attempted to remake this a while back, but I feel he did a bad job. YouTube - MPH Highground (Halo 3 Map) I plan to do this in the crypt of Sandbox. I don't want to stay 100% true to the original map though, I want to make it in a way where the gameplay can be good in Halo 3 too. If you think that remaking this is a bad idea for a first time thing, let me know! Suggest things that I should try to do before doing any big projects. Thanks a lot guys! Mods: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, saw two other threads similar to mine in here and assumed this is the appropriate place to put it. Edit: Oops! My GT is XxOblivion77. Send me an FR saying you're from FH and I'll add you/invite you to my game. I should also mention I've read all the tutorials from here already.
your deffinetly making a good choice but making it in the crypt. Foundry will always fall short on most remakes. This is a very ambitious remake as well. 2 questions. I didn't see any merging or geo merging in the video above...do you know how? And, are you looking for a forge mate or just want some tips?
This is the correct forum. To start you off, make a few slayer maps. Remakes are hard to do and require a lot of skill if you want it perfect. Once you feel like you are great at forging then do a remake. Also let me remind you that remakes can be boring to do, and when you are bored you tend to make sloppier maps. Judge wether this map "Highground" would be 1 Easy to make, 2 Quick to make, and 3 Fun to make. Or else it will turnout in poor quality or you will not finish it.
I just want some tips, but more or less in-game type stuff. I think I'll make original maps first then. I think I'll make a slayer-ish map or something that isn't really meant to be played, like an ascetic map to help me learn.
