    Locust Locust
    Locust Locust

Hi, guys! I haven't been posting maps for a while because I got bored of Halo 3 and I decided to play different games. One of the games I played was Halo Wars, and I was fascinated with vehicles like the Vulture, Cobra, and Vampire. But the vehicle that impressed me most was the Covenant Locust, which I decided to remake on Halo 3. Welcome to my first Mythic map, my second asthetic map, and my fifth map overall. Welcome to the mini-scarab, the building-killer... the Covenant Locust.

This Locust was fairly hard to build. I wanted to make one that you could drive and shoot, so I put a Banshee in the head. There is also a gunner position on top of the head, for point defense. There is also a small Covenant outpost and a small UNSC base. Now, for the pics!

See? You can shoot the Locust's main weapon!

This is a pretty good map, its not the most complicated thing ever, but it looks a lot like a locust. I would like to see this added into a more elaborate map, cuz it doesnt look like it uses that many objects, so a good map could still be made around it.

huh, extremely well for second asthetic work.

I love how you can shoot it and "drive" it,and the turrent up top adds to the realness. Your work here allows a smooth transfer from piece to piece. easily a aesthetic marvel.

    A+

Hmm... I thought someone would make a map like this... I have to see your remake of this is pretty good and the forging is well done. Great idea of using the banshee to help build it, pretty unique, good job.

I like it. The trouble with immovable objects is that they can't move. Sounds dumb, but this means that large vehicles that we remake can't be moved unless we make them on the Elephants in Sandtrap, and that's extremely tough.

Anyways, the Banshee was a good idea. Overall, it's a good map. Maybe you should consider adding some targets to shoot at, or finding a way to make it "destructable" (sometimes achieved by lining up a bunch of fusion coils inside open objects on instant respawn for an awesome explosion sequence)

Aesthetically this is great. Actually looks like what you intended it to be. The other bases and things are a plus. Could be used as a template for another map, maybe a v2 with more stuff built around it.
The fact that it also works as a weapon just tops everything off.
    good job

Well, it wouldn't look very alien if there was a Warthog turret sticking out the front of the locust, and the locust shoots a continuous beam weapon. Since there is no vehicle with a beam, I had to make do with an alien that shoots rapid fire to look like a beam.

maybe a sentinel beam would be a better option than a banshee

Aesthetically it's really good, too bad you can't make the head fully turn, although the fact that it can shoot in different directions is sick. I can imagine this being incorporated into a minigame or infection. Also, I believe that locusts shoot giant lasers? But then again, I suppose it looks better with the banshee.

that is pretty cool but ithink you should make the bases more elaborate. Also i see that u have rocket launchers and missle pods which really wouldnt workout because u can just destroy the banshee and the turret easily.

Wow, really good, I like how the Locust's "head" is perfectly over the Banshee. But maybe for a V2, since it looks like you have a significant amount of money/objects left, maybe you could make two locusts, or a locust and maybe a Cobra or Grizzly for the humans. (If you don't have enough money then that's fine.) But anyways, I'll DL.

    8/10

The locust always has been my favorite Halo Wars vehicle. It looks really cool and is nicely forged. I like how you implemented a Banshee into the Locust to act as a gun. You should consider putting a red light inside the Locust as well to give it that 'purple' feel.

Wow, i never thought of a stationary, flying vehicle. very nice idea there. also, it looks neat and clean which is a plus. you should really make an infection game out of this, you know, humans try to take it down, but can't get too close because of a barrier. it would be quite the fun map. so 4/5

very nice looks very like a locust, maybe insert a blue/red light to add the purple feeling and for the main beam as such maybe have someone with a sential beam. but apart from that 10/5 love it.

This is a great map, of course its Aesthetic and so i don't expect gameplay but the fact that you made it not just a statue but that it has the banshee in it is great. I never bought Halo wars but i played the demo and that was one new vehicles that made a big impression on me, because for one thing you never fight in a base or something as MC, so it was interesting seeing a vehicle with the purpose of destroying bases in Halo Wars, anyway great map, 5/5 it really looks like the Locust.

Very nice aesthetics on the locust, and an extremely clever use of the banshee. It doesn't really matter about the human base as this is just an aesthetic map. Maybe you could try some others, like a vulture or cobra, incorporating human vehicles. Love to see more. 5/5 for ingenious use of a flying vehicle in a land-based one.

Oh my god that's awesome. I was wondering how you shot those bursts of Blue stuff and I realised you put something nothing other than a Banshee:D. Good job you built it very nicely but It would of been better if you justput the Banshee at the top because they look similar to Locusts. Nicely Done.

Just to clear stuff up with one post, this map is asthetic, not playable. But if you give credit to me when you post it, you can build a map around it. I would have liked to not put stone on top of the Banshee, but it would have flown away when you got in it. Also, I was going to make it purple, but I thought it looked better blue : ) PS new cops and robbers map coming out soon!
