Hey everyone. I've been playing Halo since CE. Since H3 launched, I've been very interested in The Forge and all the amazing possibilities that it presents. Just recently, I came here and downloaded some of you guys' amazing maps and am in aw. I've made some simple maps before but nothing like these. Right now I'm trying to find a thread or a video that can teach me some of the basics of map making and techniques. If someone can point me in the right direction to become a forge master, it would be greatly appreciated. =D Anyways, like I said, I'm a complete noob, but I hope to become good at making maps and am looking forward to being a part of this community. -NayR
Its okay to be a noob, im a noob too, we can be noobs together, just be sure to read the rules, hope to see you around. happy posting.
Don't listen to donii, he's from canaduh. You never trust people from canaduh. But seriously, onto more srsness, welcome to FH, I hope you have a nice stay, I know I have had so far. Just don't get TO addicted. Also, read the rules, located in most forums, and just try to be generally nice to everyone, it works out in the long run.
Im a noob too but unlike U or other I first started making maps then while playing with random people after the third match they started reclaiming that I should post my maps here, i too was in aw when I first came here to see more people that like to do the things I liked to do, I had lots of positive feed back advice and extra people to try my maps out with me and I hope you too have a great experience

all u have to do is have a good imagination ... try to think of something none has ever thought of. unique and that will still have good gameplay
Sup man, the name's Shanon....Im not a chick though, but if I was, I would be hot. Anywho, read rules, behave and play nice. I also played CE up to H3 and am a hardcore fan of Halo. H1 LANS were the BEST. Brings back memories of hour long CTF on Blood Gulch with the beatiful aroma of greasy pizza and coke........good times. So yea, if you need any help with anything, mssge me or a Mod (blue dudes) or any other colored name. They'll be happy to help you out. Check out Forging 101 for more in-depth forge techniques and such. Or even mssge me on LIVE about gameplay or to even test a map. Best of luck.
It's a lie, trust me. Shanon is a chick, Shanon has bewbs, I've seen them. But anyway, people have already covered the key stuff, Forging 101 section is a great go-to for Forging tips, tutorials and general know how. Be sure to check out the Map Database as well, we recently introduced it as a new way to share maps and it has several advantages over the standard map forums, including being much easier to search in detail. If you have any problems or questions about the site then please contact myself or another Staff member (Journalists like myself are red, and are able to help with pretty much everything, Moderators are blue and are probably the best people to ask if you have a problem around the forums since they are in the best position to help you), and I hope you enjoy your experience here.
Hey, I was in exactly the same position as you about a month and a half ago. Nowadays I feel confident that i can make anything I want, given the right amount of time I.e. lots of it! Stick to the posting rules and stay patient when forging, then your the only one stopping yourself. See ya around!
