I think it is stupid how skulls automatically turn on to increase difficulty, i mean i see it game play wise, but what if i don't want to fight the covenant without a reticule, or having to melee to restore health, stupid stuff like that. it seems like they could just increase the difficulty/strength of stuff. i mean, no four man squad could beat 25 brute cheiftains, supported by jackal snipers, on legendary. no dumb skull needed. of course all of the skulls could be optional, could then be something similar to the campaign's "mythic" difficulty. but i think they should be optional, i think it would be funner.
There would probaly be an option to turn on no skulls or only have some skulls turn on. I don't think bungie would force people to play all the skulls on. Hey they might even allow you to choose what skulls will turn on what round. Dw bungie isn't that mean. And they are all about gamepmay so I don't see why they wouldn't allow these options.
First: Skulls are classed in two seperate categories. The fun ones and the difficulty ones. Blind, Gunts B-Day, Cowbell and IWHBYD are the fun ones. You can be 95% sure that Bungie won't use these skulls unless you want to. Second: Mythic is mythic. That's the way it's going to work and I believe that you don't have shields going in anyway. So, Black eye will probably just give you the ability to get shields in the first place. Third: Thunderstorm works very differently then they way it did in Halo 2. It brings the enemy to the higest rank of their archetype. What would normally be a Blue Brute will be a Gold Brute, not a Chieften. Fourth: It's a gauntlet. It's not supposed to be easy finishing. You're bitching at the fact that you don't think you'll get very far. Stop it. You're thinking about Firefight in the wrong way. It's not campaign which is supposed to be finished. Firefight is not meant to be finished. Like Survival mode in L4D.
i know, but it would be funner without mandatory skulls on that you don't want, i know the IWBYD and cowbell skulls and such won't be mandatory, but maybe i don't want the tilt skull on, cause it ****s with weaknesses/resistances and buggers everything up. just sayin, i think it would be cool if they were optional.
The 7 basic skulls cannot be toggled on or off. They are always a part of firefight. You can choose to toggle other skulls on or off in addition to the 7 integral skulls. Trust me, a month after ODST is out, and you've ran through firefight several times, youll be happy the skulls are there, because they will keep the game fresh longer, and up the replayability factor 3-fold.
While it's a nice idea too keep all gameplay new and fresh, being able to toggle of a few of the "auto" skulls would still be a nice feature...
This makes it all the harder and more competitive, so that it lasts, and you don't unlock every achiveable in three minutes.
Unless if you hack, which a lot of people have already done... But yeah the skulls will take away the repetitive gameplay in these types of games. Don't worry, just wait for the game to come out. Once you've played it and you don't like it then go crazy on how the skulls are stupid, just not now when you don't know.
1. Each set turns on a new skull. To get all 7 skulls on requires 6 sets to be completed. That takes a long time. 2. Blind isn't even one of them anyways.
/fail. Has that not been posted 5 times in this thread already? OP: It's not that bad. Without the skulls turning on firefight would be so old after the first set. Plus, you won't be fighting without a reticule unless you activate that skull yourself. Blind is a Silver Skull. And why would anyone want 25 brute chieftains running after them instead of having enemies throw lots of grenades? Your logic is weak.
Look, all I want to do in this new "firefight" game is go around splattering aliens with a warthog.. If they don't give me that, then I'll just go back to matchmaking. lol.
Hell yea. Seriously, I don't care if a legion of Brute Chieftains with Gravity Hammers is chasing me, or a ton of War Chieftains with Fuel Rod Guns, or even a Grunt chasing me with 50 million power drains and Plasma Pistols overcharged, I wanna freaking either splatter them or Snipe them as Romeo. ... Nevermind about that Grunt, all those Drains and Pistols would weigh more than him.
I believe that they dont activate the pointless skulls such as Fog.... It will be fine. It will spice up gameplay. Otherwise- it would be too easy...
Of course, I wouldn't mind the option to exchange skulls for enemy numbers (although, that would complicate the Bnet leaderboards), but I wouldn't use it very often. See, the skulls are there to keep things fresh, to mix things up. Variety is the Spice of Life.
If they are always there to mix it up, wether you like it or not... that kinds defeats the purpose dont you think?
i think its a good idea to have the skulls automatically turn on at a point cause i know it will keep playing firefight till i get as far as i can.
