Hey fellas, I just got the full version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, and I decided to make a new signature. At the moment, I am very inexperienced with Photoshop, but I think I will learn quite alot in due time.

Here is the signature I made:

The background image doesn't blend well with the focal point, which kinda seems like the text because it stands out so much. The whole sig is very, very dark which is awkward to me. Another personal preference I have is that the width is too long.
    Try these dimensions:
    H- 130
    W- 300

Take a render from Planet Renders once you've signed up, of course, and open it with Photoshop. Try centering the sig or move slightly to the left or right depending on the angle of the render.

Search google for brushes and download a wide variety and install them in the program file for Brushes in Photoshop. Use the brushes on a different layer. Then the render on a separate layer and backgrund on a separate layer.

Once you've added a bunch of brushes for a nice design on that layer, click shift and highlight all of your layers and combine them.

Here's the part where it all comes together. When all layers have been combined, go to Layer->Add New Adjustment Layer->Add gradient Map. Choose a hard light or vivid light layer and edit color if you'd like. To me, this just makes the sig so much better.

For the last step, add a new layer and use the line tool to create a border. Use 3 to 5 pixels wide for the top and bottom of the sig and a 1 pixel wide line for the sides. Make sure this layer is on top of all other layers.

I'll attempt to follow those steps, but I only just got photoshop today and it's jibberish to me. :p

Thank you for taking the time to assess it, and if I manage to understand photoshop a bit better, I will do as you suggest. Thanks. :)
