I didn't have a very good experience last night. I was in a group, and the voice of our host was lagging. He didn't have one or more of the game variants for the map chosen, and I was booted (because of a lag problem?). I have a very fast cable connection. From what I read on this site, I thought it was going to be a time where we would all share maps. I thought that would be cool. During the time I was in there, some of the maps we played were ones that have been out, that could've already been played. Maybe they shared maps later on in the night. It seemed like a great idea, and thanks to those involved for the effort. I did end up joining another group that was going well, but ended up quitting. I guess I was because I had my map(s) to show, and if that wasn't happening, then I would rather play another game.
Apparently someone did not read the topic about this... I hardly think the hosts mike has anything to do with us... Maybe you were being a jerk and thats why you were booted...They are supposed to be maps we already play, for this point is what most annoyed me about this post...YOU AREN"T SUPPOSED TO SHOW YOUR MAPS!
The site says, "Every two weeks Forge Hub hosts a Custom Game Night where Forge Hub community members have a chance to play forge maps and gametypes made by the community with each other and the Forge Hub Staff. This event is called "Thank God It's Forgeday" or TGIFD for short. The Custom Game Night is held every two weeks on a Friday from 6:30pm to 10:30pm CST. Individuals who compete in the event have a chance to play maps made by the community and meet many of the FH Staff members. Maybe I misunderstood. Does the above in blue mean I could've or could not share my map(s). That's a pretty harsh response. If this is how staff handles those interested in Forge Hub, then that isn't good. The host said it had nothing to do personal with the person(s) booted. I'm guessing it was to clear out the room in hopes of less lag. You can ask aNitrous.
Community=Guilders and Featured maps. WE don't want to play crappy maps. We want to play featured maps that are fun, and already tested.
And featured maps. The featured maps are good. Yours aren't featured, so they're not played. Anyone's map can be featured. And I, and I'm sure other's would agree, enjoy playing the guilders maps because they are fun.
I thought, "Every two weeks Forge Hub hosts a Custom Game Night where Forge Hub community members have a chance to play forge maps and gametypes made by the community with each other and the Forge Hub Staff." meant Forge Hub community members would have a chance to play forge maps that were or weren't seen yet. I worked on one to present. I had tried to improve, since I applied to the Forge Hub and was denied.
You can test your map on any other day. Get to know the community, and then alot of people will want to test your map with you.
If you didn't understand..you could have asked...and your map may have a chance if we choose it from the forge maps topic, but we won't give other random people a chance to play their maps, we have a list of maps we can/can't play, and try not to go off of those OK...how is that his fault exactly... Wait, this topic is a joke right?
People who we approve, but pretty much guilders only, until someone comes up with a worthwhile map that we can feature
Very true soggy...when you can get on the front page, it can be played...or if you have a nice host like < , they may let you play your map ...if rusty or mike is on back me up
People who take things too literally make my day that much harder. I have cleared up some ambiguity to set things straight. Less ambiguous description
Sorry. I can't help how I understood it. It is more clear now. Thanks for the quick response. (edit to the site)
