Sandbox Entwine

    Hours Taken: Around 13, or 14 hours​

    Description
    Well, I decided to take a break from my recent racetrack building phase, and take a shot at competitive section instead. Entwine is a large map that features a curving central walkway, and rounded bases. I wanted to have a 'Curving' theme, thats how I got the name. Entwine means Curl, so that name fits perfectly for the map. This is my first map that I have geo-merged into the dunes of sandbox, this was by far the most difficult aspect of Entwine. While building Entwine, I hit the OLN, therefore I can not place anymore objects. There are four ways from one side to the other, round each sides of the central walkway, across the walkway, and through the tunnel, located in the centre. Through all my testing sessions I have never experienced spawn killing, and hopefully you guys wont either.​

    Amazingly forged map here my freind. Im loving how the bases use the dunes as a defence also and the huge bridge/walkway from one base to another. However the bubble sheild spawn times seem a bit overkill. I can grab and use a bubble sheild and when that runs out another will be waiting for me, which means camping. On a large map ike this its not much of an issue but in a flag game people would camp on the Bubble Sheild spawn until they get picked up, throwing sheild after sheild while they wait.

    Fantastic aesthetics and it looks like you planned it like this, and the use of the curves while keeping it mirrored is good forging.

    I will download and see if I can get a 6 v 6 going so I can provide feedback on gameplay.

    The map is like sex for the eyes (sarcasm- nothing can be as good). The forging is simply amazing and it somehow reminds me of a campaign level with the video's music adding to the effect. Nice work. I shall download!

    I just did a forgethrough, and overall it looks great. the layout is very good and also creative. everything looked very neat and smooth. now i havnt played a game on it, but one thing i could possibly see being negative is that there are snipers on the map. to me, it just seems like these could devastate. on any somewhat open map on the main tier of sandbox, you can pretty much see the entire map if you hop up onto the dunes around the map. especially the one behind your red base. if a player has a sniper up there, they can poop on the other team.

    but then again i havnt played a game yet on it, it could balance out all right. like i said, the map looks awesome. great job.

    This looks like a well-though-out, awesome map. Really like what you did with the bases, the curvature of them is really cool, reminds me of the circular base on Eighty Grit. I would just like to point out blue base is bigger than red, not a big deal, but just saying. I really dig the sniper spawn, I incorporate that style into my maps with the pillar arches, and the overall way to traverse the map is laid out well also. I will get back to you with a gameplay review; I only did a forge-through. But the only thing I didn't like was the random blue/red columns on the floor for cover. They really bugged me. Add some more aesthetic cover there, because that just doesn't look right. Keep forging!

    Let me start out by saying that your forging skills are amazing. Everything is perfectly interlocked. The gameplay looks pretty fun as well, and the weapons looks well balanced. I'm totally gonna try to cap a flag by driving a mongoose along the curvy platform. Haha. I'm gonna give it a well-deserved 5/5

    Thank you, and you can also drive a warthog across there, but you can only get up at the base ramps.

    I never ran into that issue, but I guess it is a problem. I'll fix that in a V1.2 thanks for pointing it out anyway.

    Well, should I lower the spare clips, I think its on 1 at the moment. Do you think that would help. There's an easy way to kill the sniper up there, grab a hog and drive up there, shoot him until he stops sniping (Dead). Simple :)

    The columns were a last second disission to add some more cover, If you really think their ugly then I shall remove them.

    Now THIS is an awesome looking ground floor BTB map, I don't come across many that stand out like this. The curved catwalks look like they have been interlocked well and nice work on the geomerging. Can't wait to try it.

    Wow, this is a great looking map. It sorta seems like you took your track skills and put them to use here. (The Giant walk ways) And I really love the bases man, they look great.

    But, like people before me have said, The Bubble Shield, I would put it to a 60-120 second respawn.

    Other then that It seems great. I would download, but I got RRoD....
