Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Actinide. Download Actinide "This fission reactor from the early 21st century once harnessed the power of Actinium 227." This is my first map on Sandbox, and hopefully not my last. From the point of conception, this map has been built with small teams in mind (the map is probably a little bigger than Guardian). The map has one base, which is blue base, a red outpost, and a white neutral area. Back-story I began building this map in March, when I received a code for the Mythic Map Pack from a friend. I completed what I thought to be the final version the same day, with a 20 hour forging session (I may have been a little excited to get the maps =P). However, after some testing I quickly realized that I could not release it yet. A team doubles game was played and there were over 20 suicides resulting from people falling off the edge of the map. I clearly needed many more rails. I added some rails and played with the spawns a bit and put it up for testing again. This time there were not nearly as many suicides, but the spawning was not how I wanted it. With the final forging session I changed many architectural aspects and the spawns were finalized. A final test proved what I believed to be my final, releasable version of Actinide. Overview This map is asymmetric, with the weapons being fairly symmetric (I say fairly because obviously the can’t be completely…). The defenders base (blue) has three entrances. The red outpost really doesn’t have any entrances per say (the screenshots will show what it looks like). The white neutral area, and the middle are very contested areas as the rockets spawn in the middle, and an overshield spawns in the white area. Active camo spawns across the map on the blue elbow. There are two snipers on the map, one spawns in blue lobby, and the other spawns at the side of the red outpost. Below is a complete equipment and weapon guide. The forging on this map looks pretty smooth and neat. I like the layout too. I will give it a DL and edit this when I get the chance to play a game on it.
I like the aesthetics on this map, they seem to be above average. I also like how much time you put into the layout and the gametypes, it seems like a great map to warm up and get some 4v4 games going. Do you think it plays well? I like the forging part of it, but it seems like there are many obstacles and twists/turns.
It Looks like you put a ton of effort into building this map, all the Scenery looks good, i like how were you have the hill in the one shot, but that might be a bit camp friendly. I think it would be great for a doubles or singles map. Might DL And edit this post.
I can see myself! Dead. Anyways, this map is great for 4v4 and under...although part of me still wants to see it on 8v8...
Nice map. The layout and gameplay look great and fro mthe looks of it the forging is also well done. All of the walkways looks great and it looks like a fun little map to play oddball or FFA snipers on.
Well, redirected from my filleshare question thread, after downloading, and inspecting, I very much enjoy this map! It's a definete "not delete." My friends and I will be playing this! Great job. 5/5
I like the tall structures, they make it easy for call outs during a game, and I like the upside-down tube corner idea. Great lines of sight aswell. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it's not symetrical, but that just might be a pet peeve of mine. Other than that I don't see anything "bad" about it. Looks well forged, but a little like you tried to finish it within a deadline, like you kinda threw things together, that's not necesarily a "bad" thing though. Great job. Keep forging. _______________________ My latest map: Leolism 1.1
