On Bungie's website, or been used in matchmaking. I know there have been a few maps on Sandbox that were new. Like Utah Mumba or whatever it's called. There was another cool map on Sandbox I played in Matchmaking I just can't remember the name. Do you guys ever check out the Bungie.net group Atlas that Bungie made, I have heard that is a good way to get your maps noticed by Bungie and maybe put into the matchmaking rotation.
Utah Mamba was featured here I believe. So yes. I don't keep track of the rest, so there could be more.
Wait, I'm going to check check maps are currently being used on Bungie.net *searches* Okay, the non-default maps on Sandbox that are currently in matchmaking are Vindictive, Tundra, Wastelands, Cubed, Plurality, Vessel, Utah Mambo, ¡Sumo Grande!, Zeus, Spooky House, and Punishment. Note that a couple of these are for action sack, but there's A LOT that I haven't played on yet!
Better clarify that before people get the wrong ideas in to their heads. Atlas is not a guarenteed method of getting you map in to matchmaking or even looked at by a Bungie employee. Don't go submitting any map just because you can. If you map is to stand any chance in Atlas (and there are members who will make very good criticisms and you must be prepared to listen to them) then it needs to be of the same quality of the default maps, not just another Foundry map filled with a few boxes.
Utah Mambo was made by cosmic rick. check the featured maps forum for it. As for other maps, i'm not sure. The majority of the great maps here happen to not qualify for atlas for budget glitch reasons, thats the main reason you don't see many.
Well the reason why I ask is because after I made my Running Riot Studio map. I got to thinking and I got a really cool idea for a map, I'm currently working on it now. I will post it when I'm done, the only problem is I'm not the best at Forge and most of the time my Forge objects have gaps in them. I think if I could get rid of the gaps I would have a strong chance of maybe getting it in Matchmaking. I would love to play on my map now and then. So I guess maybe when I'm done if you guys could give me some ideas and thoughts on my map and maybe help me improve on it. If you guys do that here if not that's okay, I would like to make this map without using any Forge glitching except for floating objects.
That's cool I don't even know how to do that glitch =). Was Utah Mambo really made by someone on Forge Hub?
Yes, Utah was, but that isn't to say it was never on another site as well. It might have been, it might not have been. Anyway... Interlocking: Press X on an immobile object, and change "place at start" to no. Restart the round. Go to where the object will spawn and place the new object so it will overlap the original. When the original spawns, it will be inside the new object. Read forging 101. I won't summarize geomerging . . . because I'm lazy.
But isn't interlocking the reason why some maps spaz out. I have played on a few maps on Sandbox and the objects start moving in place. I'm trying to avoid interlocking on my map. Is there a way to delete an object that has been interlocked? I noticed I used the spawn trick a few times on my Running Riot Studio I made and I can't delete those items. Or at least I haven't found out how to yet.
If an object moves at start, it is a movable object. don't interlock with movables. People will flame you if you post a map here without interlocking. Well, maybe not, but it'd ahve to be realy good to avoid flamage.
To clear up any confusion that i feel is here, Cosmic Rick is ForgeHub based. Of any forge site, this is his (and many other greats) main site. Utah Mambo was Tested by hubbers, and Released to hubbers first.
Distortion was featured in the MLG playlist for like a week before it was taken out. Utah mambo is also featured but I haven't played it yet
