Why not just use one grav lift that is facing straight up? Grav lifts and their "jet stream of influence" are very unpredictable. The angle and speed of the object coupled with varying exit speeds from the grav lift make this extremely difficult to calculate in our little forge world (i.e. no calculators or formulas!). I won't say its impossible, but definitely improbable. IMHO I feel that doing this would not be worth the time and effort, though props to you if you can do it successfully.
I cant angle my lifts right. Whenever I drop the grav lift onto the weapon holder, it reangles itself such as how a weapon would do when placed on a weapon holder.
Then all you have to do is place that weapon holder in the orientation that will allow the grav lift placed on it to face the correct direction. For example, you place a weapon holder on the ground and then a grav lift on top of it. The grav lift re-orients itself to face North every single time, but you want it to face East. So, all you have to do is turn take the grav lift off for a moment, then pick up the weapon holder and turn it clockwise 90 degrees. Now when you place the grav lift back on it should face East as you desired. Send me a FR with a voice message stating you are from ForgeHub (and what you need help with) if this is still unclear. I think this is the right place to ask this. But how do you activate a Grav lift while still in orb form?
i'm not sure if this is what you mean. there's a grav lift under scenery. use that and place it wherever. it spawn already activated
Other great uses of Gravity lifts were demonstrated in Shock Theta's easter egg on Slanted (the soccer ball). basically, playing with the run-times in order to act as "switches" for grav lifts in other areas of the map.
Finally grav lifts make since now. I couldn't figure out any good uses for them ( I am a freakin noob )! Thanks
I have noticed that when playing certain gametypes with increased speed, running through a sideways grav lift actually slows down the player.
A cool technique is to use them as doors, e.g. my friend has made a map called rabbit season on Last resort, and the little windows at the side of the building, you know by the 2 mongoose spawn point, well he put a grav lift under each of the slanting windows, so it's difficult to get in, but with a couple of bullets it's easy to get out. P.S. This method is great for cops nd robbers (infection gametype) maps.
Omg I just had an idea lol... place a crate or other object on an elevated surface. put a grac lift on sides opposite eachother (facing the crate) now shoot 1 lift, and watch the object go flying! if used correctly, you could get a nice splatter lol
