This Thread was designed for you to contribute your thoughts into what I should do and incorporate into this Crow's Nest Remake/Inspiration. It was started for the 2009 Halo 3 Campaign Remake Contest, and it is due on June 31st. I'm running out of time as you can see, but I really feel I can win if I finish. So please help me think of more things to do Design-wise. I'm changing the accual design to incorporate Gameplay better, Don't bother with Aesthetics, because that can all be tackled in one day for me. I started doing them because I got stuck./ was forced to. Please don't post in here unless yu have ideas, I don't want "looks good 4.5/5" This is the main hallway very large and arched, This is the curved room you pass (will be) / Turbine Please give your ideas for Crow's Nest ASAP
You could perhaps make the long hallway, the one where when you open the door, a warthog gets blown up. Or you could make the barracks part. I do think you should definately include the small corridors between the main areas, i.e. the corridors where you don't really encounter the covenant, and if you do they are jackals. The big room should be replicated of the room that you start in with the big screens and has the skull in the rafters. Another thing you could do (if you have enough objects) is remake the cave where you are swarmed by drones. You don't have to make it cave like just make it as much like it as possible. If this is supposed to be playable than the cave could act as a starting point for one team the and the "skull room" that I mentioned above could be the opposite teams start.Good luck. That's where the main hallway came into play, the hall where hog gets blown. The rest of it are parts from the map that are seen by passing through the tunnels
not sure about you, but it seems a little too roomy, ohh I got one! perhaps and elevator of sorts (or at least a bunch of grav lifts meant to simulate one), how about a pit, and right after the drop off of the pit there is a little ledge, and in that ledge is and oddball skull? Heys, its a start. But i like the basic design so far, just seems to roomy, not enough usless clutter
i think you should make either the room with all the drones or the hanger where you have to clear out the covenant but so far the big hallway and the other room look really really good once you finish this im sure you will win and i will dl great work so far.

looks good 4.5/5. Haha just kidding. I think you make the stairs from the begining of the map where there are two stairways on the side that lead to a platform with a stairway in the middle that leads lower. If you go into campaign i think you will figure out what i am talking about. Nice forging so far...
IMO you should add some pipes because that's what I seem to ALWAYS remember when I think of Rat's Nest/Crow's Nest.

You could make an assymetric map where the hanger is where the covenant (attackers) base is and one in the control room where the USNC (defenders) are. Then just create the whole map between there. If you can't make everything between then get rid of some miscellanious hallways. But try to make it as asthetically precise as the original. I recommend going through the whole part your going to build in theatre mode. Then draw an overview picture of the things you see. Go back and then place everything that you see. Also I have an idea for the exploding Warthog if you want help with it. I really like the hallway you created. keep it. P.S. How did you get it that precise? You look like your really good at asthetial points in maps. Send me a PM. I think I have a map that you would really be able to help with. And trust me, it will be a good map.
I was going to enter the contest too, but decided not to. So here's an idea, you could make the hangar area but that might not work so well because you would need to make that small area under the part where the covies land. So instead, that warthog hallway. Then at the end, you could make a warthog that you can leap off of to go on the pipes. Create some pipes on top and a sniper as well, and you have a balanced hallway, with highground for sniping and low ground for main battle. Then don't forget barricades and crates (blocks). But don't make the door where you enter the warthog hallway, because it just doesn't seem like it would fit. You only have a few days left, but still, I hope it works out for you. The map looks really good so far and just might win the contest! I hope these ideas may have helped, especially with so little time left. But good luck for this contest. BTW: I may be one of the judges for the contest, so anyone who thinks I want this to win, don't. I just want to give ideas, and help a map to become more. Until I see every map, I won't pick a favorite.
