So, here is my new map called Paradise. (Tell me if I don't write everything correct, my mother language isin't english). Paradise supports only Team Slayer 'cause I had too much stuff in this map so, I had only enough space for Team Slayer starting points. Paradise has two yards, tower and two hallways (they are the bases). Paradise supports maxium 6 players a team, so it's best at 4-12 players. So here's the weapon list: (sorry I don't have respawn times and ammuniation) Assault Rifle: 2 Battle Rifle: 6 Shotgun: 2 Sniper Rifle: 2 SMG: 4 Spiker: 2 Plasma Rifle: 2 Needler: 1 Brute Shot: 1 Energy Sword: 1 Covenant Carbine: 1 Mauler: 2 Missile Pod: 1 Frag Granades: 3 Plasma Granades: 3 Spike Granades: 3 Bubble Shield: 1 Power Drain: 1 Active Camo: 1 Ghost: 1 So, now for the picks: Overwiew Overwiew 2 Attackers Base Attackers Yard Looked From Attackers Base Attackers Yard Ghost On Attackers Yard Defenders Base Defenders Yard Sword Spawn Tower Tower Looked From Defenders Yard Downlod link: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details P.S. Please tell me if this isin't posted right, and give feedback.
It looks good for (what I assume) is your first post, I would try to interlock some of the ramps. for example the ramp in the 'attackers yard' is too short to reach all the way up to the platform, and this can get a little anoying during gameplay. And on a personal note, taking pics on slayer removes the grid and it's easier to see the map rather than the luminous blue glow of the grid. But apart from that it looks nice!
Pretty much what grif said, some merging/interlocking will be needed for some surfaces and the fact its better to take a screen of your map in a custom game rather than forge. From what I can see, it looks well concieved and like it would be a fun map to play on. One problem I can forsee is the fact that theres only one ghost and you intended this map for team slayer so that might become dominating? Also, I think a little more cover is needed for the gound level. Seems like it might be easy to pick off opponents from the higher levels.
I really like the layout of this map, but parts of it look just a little bit sloppy. Interlocking is not always necessary, but it can help to make a map smoother. For example, in this pic the walls on the left look rather crooked, but those walls are kinda tricky anyway. Also, it seems a little bit crowded for a ghost IMO, but I haven't played it yet. Right now I am just judging by the pics and I'll update later. It might help if you start using a canvas like this one, that way you don't have to worry about the object limit when it comes to respawns, starting points, and objectives. Hope this helps
You read the rules! Good. Now to talk about your map. The map itself has an overall good layout. It has balance, cover, hard to break, and doesn't have too many weapons on it. It would be excellent for Team and FFA games. The only problem: Sloppiness. I'm not saying you're lazy for making maps, the problem is that some pieces don't fit very well. That can be thankfully solved by interlocking. Overall, 4/5. Original, balanced excellent map, but fairly sloppy. I look forward to version 2.
Actually, it's not dominating 'cause other team has the Missile Pod, and there isin't much room in the map. But I thought the same thing while I made this map. Offtopic: I'm going to post a new map tomorrow. It's a small Foundry map called "Misery".
