I'm looking for a male to male Audio/Video composite cable to use with my Dazzle. Dynex® - 6' Composite Video/Stereo Audio Cable - DX-AV061 This dosen't exactly mention what is on both sides of it... can anyone help out?
Male to Male is the standard on composite cables, to clarify yes, that is what you are looking for. :lock:
That is the correct cable but if you are do it so it displays to both computer and tv u also need 'y' spliters
Okay, just a few tips with this thing you're doing: Make your Dazzle look like this. This way you don't need a TV with an output bit to capture as your Dazzle is your 'middle man', not your TV. And you're being ripped oof. Those cables are worth like £5 ($8.50), and the quality of that cable won't affect your capture quality, only the quality of the picture you receive through your TV whilst using the Dazzle.
Actually, the nicer the cable, you'll get nicer quality. Matty has really nice wires and a DVC 100 and gets pretty than average quality. My cables kinda suck.
In my setup the RCA (Component) double-male cable is only the connection between the TV and the dazzle output, so it only provides your TV with a better visual quality if the cable is gold-plated or whatever. But the xbox 360 cable is deoxygenated and gold-plated anyway so it's high-quality enough. Just use gold-plated RCA Y-splitters (they only cost like £0.35 ($0.50) more each)
Actually, i use the s-video cable to record because it gives better quality and costs less (quality > quantity i suppose)! It takes longer though.
Sorry for the long bump, I finally remember the thread. Anyway, I don't understand why I need to use splitters. Isn't it like this: Laptop <--Male to Male USB--> Dazzle <-- Male to Male A/V --> TV's Female Output ports Can someone explain why I need the splitters? Couldn't it be as simple as the way I showed it above? Bump. This has been confusing me for awhile. Why does everyone use the splitters when you can just use the method I showed in the above post?
