I have to mention the slow motion device because it is what makes this map so unique. It is a device that actives precisely when you launch from the epic jump at silo 3 for action-movie-style, bullet-time jump stunts!! I am going to make the bold statement and say that I have invented this one-of-a-kind device. Many heroic members on the bungie forums and custom map fanactics alike all say that they have never seen anything like this. After discovering this technique, I was determined to figure out a way to incorporate it with the map. HOW IT WORKS: By fusing two or more pallets, fastening them to the ground and limiting their range of movement, placing their run time min to the maximum value, and then destroying them, it will slow down the speed of the game (somewhat similar to overloading maps using tripmines). The following is an explanation of how it works with the jump; First of all, the warthog bombing the ramp is the trigger that causes this chain of events. [ Slow Mo Phase 1 ] Second, the warthog impacts the crane arm which swings from position and releases the wire spool from its resting place on top of the crane. [ Slow Mo Phase 2 ] Lastly, the wire spool drops onto the fusion coils below, creating an explosion that destroys the pallets fastened to the ground nearby. [ Slow Mo Phase 3 ] This creates an awesome Slow Motion effect that occurs precisely when you launch from the jump lasting an average of 30 seconds! However, this is my first map so some of the more advenced forgers could probably build this map in half of the time or less. Nonetheless, this map is guaranteed to impress you! Re: H3's BIGGEST JUMP. Includes Slow Motion Device! I have seen a lot of similar ramps, but from the pictures that platform looks really well made, It really makes your map stand out... good job! running
Re: H3's BIGGEST JUMP. Includes Slow Motion Device! you are a god 1 thing is after the main jump the nonstop exploding is annoying buy the map is grate the slomo doesn't work 100% but dose work this map rocks
Re: H3's BIGGEST JUMP. Includes Slow Motion Device! Hey bro, yes the non-stop exploding IS annoying, but what are you doing in forge on my map?! Just playin', however - the reason why the explosions are not stopping is because you are in forge. Play the custom game variants I have provided for you and it shouldn't be a problem. Cheers, and thanks for the excellent feedback.
great map man. i haven't had the chance to play with a big group, but jus tryin to nail some of the tricks is awesome. and just cuz i know someone's gonna try it: no other vehicle really works... specially not the wraith :squirrel_shiftyeyes:
Haha, wraith launching! Unfortunately, the limited budget of man cannons forced me to make this map Warthog specific. The weight differences between the different vehicles make it impossible to make an elevator back to the top that all of them can use. In v1 I had a series of shield doors that worked kindof like stairs - where you would hit the bottom 'stair' and you would bounce up to the next one, all the way to the top. That idea worked for getting most vehicles up but then I had no shield doors to use for the other jumps and it looked pretty trashy. It was all give and take. One suggestion, if you are in forge and spawning vehicles to jump off the ramp grab the mongoose and put an enemy passenger on the back. When you guys jump, have him hit you in different directions to do all varieties of arial tricks. The same concept applies to an enemy in the warthog riding shotgun. The sky is the limit on this one.
the "awesome" jump doesn't usally work because you have to get it right in the middle, also its pretty hard too get back up. I give you a 6/10
Just got done playin it...i like the barrel roll jump but not so much the big jump cuz it's hard to hit the slowmo (which doesn't work any of the times i try it) and then get back to actually make the jump.
Hey guys - It looks like a few of you are having trouble getting back to the top. So there are a few tips that should help to get back up to the top with ease. First, and most importantly, to get back to the top with the warthog be sure to hit the shield doors at the base of the sky platform with at least 60% maximum speed. This ensures that you will have enough momentum to fly to the platform. If you hit the shield door straight with enough speed you will make it to the top every time. To get back to the top on foot, there are gravlifts near the low swoop in the ramp that you can use to jump onto the ramp or you can take the portal. The portal is the hole in the center of the sky platform that has a man cannon directly below it. Getting to the top using the portal works every time if you do these three things. First, line up the two yellow arrows found on the tele-porter lying below the portal and walk up the ramp towards the man-cannon. Second, keep walking forward while flying up to the portal. Lastly, once you are through the hole and above the platform it helps to strafe left or right. If you use these techniques you will find it extremely easy to get back to the top and ready for action!
