Retaliation Created by xXDEAtHMyNaMEXx Download Retaliation Hey Forgehub! This is my first map ever made, and I named it Retaliation. It took me about 3-4 days (I'm still a slow forger right now), and I used several Forge techniques such as interlocking and floating objects. Retaliation is located in the Skybox of Sandbox and is a symmetrical, 2-base map that was influenced by Narrows and Onslaught. The gameplay is very fast paced, and ambushes happen everywhere. Basic Information Map size = small / medium Gametypes = Team Slayer, CTF (MOST FUN!), FFA, Assault Players = 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or 4-6 people FFA Layout = symmetrical Weapons and Equipments Battle Rifle: 10x (5 in each base) Sniper Rifle: 2x (1 in each base), 120 s respawn Covenant Carbine: 4x (2 in each base) Mauler: 1x (located Bottom-Mid) Custom Powerup: (located Top-Mid), 120 s respawn Retaliation has 2 mancannons on one side of each base that directly lead to the enemy's base. Each team has a base with a Sniper Tower located in the back. The middle contains the Mauler and Custom Powerup. Opposite the mancannons are 1 tunnel in each base that lead to the middle. Most of the action takes place in the middle, but teams will often ambush via mancannons, so make sure to always watch your back. It is also pretty easy for a team to steal the enemy Sniper Rifle and control the map. What can I improve aesthetically, layout wise? Should I remove or add something? Interlock better? Please let me know. I plan on making a v2 to improve Retaliation. I appreciate all feedback, comments, suggestions, help, anything! I want to hear from YOU! Please comment, download, and rate! It's not bad for your first map, it looks alright. I'd just suggest interlocking the floor pieces next time; yeah it takes more time but its really really worth it. Keep on trying, your doing good. :]
in addition to this i would also suggest that you place the bases on diagonals form each other as opposed to both being on the same side (or if your set on them being directly opposite each other shift them toward the middle.) also i personally prefer to merge my lights into the scenery...it casts its light on a larger area then if you float it in the air and in addition to this it also looks better then having floating glowin balls also i notice you merged the walls on the top of the bases next to the lights to make a sort of angled turn...while this does look nice i reccomend you make it higher so you cant grenade jump on to it then drop down onto the block behind it....it probably wouldnt hurt gameplay much especially considering the gametypes you chose and the positioning of the ledge (unless it was like timed 1v1 or something)...but it cant hurt to be safe
not bad you got some good ideas. I see that you interlock that bases so that looks good too. maybe it would looks a little bit cleaner if you also would interlock the walls on the ground. I also think that its a little bit too open, maybe you could add a stone platform or somthing.
