You don't know how pissed I was when I traveled fifteen minutes to Best Buy in order to get an 80 gig ipod and Prototype, only to find out that they no longer make 80 gig ipods and Prototype doesn't come out till tomorrow.

Only thing is that I don't know if it's worth the $60 dollars to buy it. Is there a demo for Prototype yet or are they just not going to release a demo?

I bought and played Bioshock for two playthrough's, but Prototype doesn't have that *zing* i'm looking for in a game without multiplayer. Campaign doesn't sound very replayable, and it's gottten only "good" reviews, for me it has be great reviews or nothing.

And I acknowledge that there is a whole "inFAMOUS vs prototype debate", but that is because they are both games based on a guy with super-powers in a sandbox world, released at about the same time; comparisons are going to happen. If inFAMOUS was on xbox 360, i'd spend money on that. Great storyline, great gameplay... it is probably the ONLY PS3 title I wish wasn't exclusive. Prototype on the other hand seems too reliant on combat gimmicks and catchphrases like "You're the weapon". Seriously, i've heard/ seen that WAY too much. I'm not into it.

Meh, IGN has rated some of my favorite games in the 6-7, it just depends on preference. Also, did you play it yet lock? Although graphically this game is less than stunning, I do enjoy the gameplay, because it plays almost exactly like one of my favorite games Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Now recently, because of tight money issues my mom told me I had to start selling a bunch of games and stuff, or else she would sell them, and she wouldn't choose which ones to sell. It turns out I had to sell my PS2 and all of the games for it, as well as some 360 games. Sadly that meant I would no longer be able to play Incredible Hulk, (unless I bought an xbox one) again. So as I'm selling my games I preorded prototype.

I have to say I am very fond of this purchase, it really has very few innovative things, maybe not the deepest game, but it's fun. Similarly to Assassins Creed, repetitive gameplay, that critics just loved to take apart, but still one of my favorite games, the repetiveness doesn't seem to get as old for me, as I find new funny things that happen just because of how the game engine runs.

Now, I don't have any friends that own a PS3, it's mostly xbox junkies around where I live, so I have not been able to experience inFamous, although I have been yearning to do so for quite a while. Although they are similar games, I don't think when the core goes down to it they can be classified as competitors. InFamous is graphically stunning, and has an enriching story (or so I have heard), while prototype is meant to play as being a fun, I am all-powerful game. Now, I love story games, and I am one of the biggest RPG nerds around, but I like some casual games (ones that are button mashing and mindless) occasionally to relieve stress, and experience fun with friends when a particularly funny situation occurs.

I am quite pleased with my purchase of Prototype and I can't wait to finish the story, because it is semi-interesting.

EDIT: Why is everyone saying it comes out tomorrow? I got mine today, and I've heard from many things saying it'd be out June 9th.

Well where I'm at, it doesn't get released until june 10, I dont know how some of you have it already. As for that review image you posted, thats the opinion of just a few people. One review doesn't justify an entire game. But yes I definitely pre-ordered Prototype. inFAMOUS didn't even look fun to me, if all you can do is shoot electricity.

They never released a demo because they knew people would be disappointed. I knew it'd be average. It'll still sell alot, just because they paid big money to get publicity.

It's odd that 20 hours gets a 'bad gametime' considering most modern games come with 4 to 6 hours and no replayability whatsoever.

    Comic totally related.

IGN Australia gave the game an 8.5 so yeah, a big step up from that the USA's are saying. i will wait for other sites to give their score before jumping to conclusions.

Well IGN did give RFG an 8, so that means this game is short of amazing with RFG being amazing.

I would assume that you have played it to say that it is average... OH WAIIIIIIIIT, you haven't played it. So, what I'm wondering is: how do you know it's average? Because of the IGN review? I have loved games that they have given a 6.6, 7.5, or whatever... So don't talk **** about a game that you have never played. You don't know why there is no demo, and you don't know how the game plays. You're just making yourself look foolish.

I'm getting this game on Friday, and it looks like it can be a lot of fun. You shouldn't pay too much attention to reviews, because, often times, the people reviewing it don't know how to play the game well enough to give accurate ratings, and they end up getting pwnd and complain about that in the review.

Opinions from anyone who has played the game are appreciated. I want to know what I am in for, and I want to hear it from someone that wants to play the game, not someone who is paid to critique it. :)

For your information, I have played it. I haven't played much but I played a little bit of it at a friend's house. And yes, it was very average.

To be fair, saying you played it for a moment is still not enough.

Every game has their 'oh my god this is ****' moment and their '... That. Was. Awesome.' moment. For example, Halo 1 had Assault on the Control Room and the Library. Any player playing the Library will be given a false impression on Halo and on AotCR will have a similiar effect.

So unless you've played more then half way through a game, you can't say much. Unless of course the game is way too boring at the start that it doesn't give you the will to play it further, a la Far Cry 2.

I played it for about an hour or so. If it hasn't impressed me by then, the developers haven't done their job. And no, I can name plenty of games that don't have any "Wow!" moments.

Are you telling me that I you understand my emotions more than I do, and that I really did like the game, I just think I didn't?

If I played a game for an hour, and it hasn't presented something amazing, then it is not an amazing game. This is just for me however. Other people may love the game, if they so choose.
