I find this video explains it best. Two parts to it. YouTube - Bl00D F1R3's Forge School: 4, Angled Merging. Part One http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=CA&hl=en&v=pA02WV4SDiM&watch_response
Bug? Is forge currently bugged? I've merged many objects on many maps over the last year but recently anytime i set an object's place at start to no, save, exit, start forge again, the object is always there making it impossible to put new objects inside it to merge the two. the object also does not receive a green hand to configure it or to move it until a new round is started. (run-time minimum of the object is at 0 so that is not causing it to show up early.) edit- i am an idiot who forgot how to merge. ignore this post. lol
I think I've sussed a way to make a VIP spawn at a set place. However, the VIP is still chosen at random: 1) Placee all starting points in killballs, or areas where you die (have them fall into death teleporters if on a map other than Sandbox), bar one. 2) Place the one spawn point where you want the VIP to spawn. Advantages - Lets you have a random VIP spawn in a certain place - The defending team's inactive time can be adjusted by adjusting the death penalty time. A large respawn time means more time for the attackers to prepare - You can give the VIP special traits by putting a custom powerup on the spawn that's not a 'death spawn' Disadvantages - If the death isn't a suicide, then the defenders will have a large spawn time of they die while playing - You must put the exact number of starting points inside the kill area as you intend to play the game or there may be no VIP spawn in the right place - Only works once
hi, in sandbox theres the red and blue lights sometimes i am able to make em float is there a sure way to make em float without using the float trick. is it like a random occurance or am i just crazy lol.
I thought all you had to do to re-budget glitch a map was to increase the maximum items by 1? I think it may just be a glitch, as the only two ways i know of are to stack objects really high until at the desired location place the light and delete the items, or save quit.
Just wondering even though I've been here many months I've never knpwn how to accurately 'floaterlock'. Floaterlocking is grabbing something and holding it in the air, setting it to not spawn at start and then save & quitting. Then after returning, you have to try and interlock the two objects in mid-air. How do you do this with thin objects like walls and stuff?
I am just confused on some geomerges. For example, on Foundry, how would you do the merge on the picture all the way to the right. ( Picture taking from Forgin 101 Advanced Merging Techniques ) I have a really hard time getting merges like that done, and I am also trying to sink stairs straight into the ground a few feet, but it nevers stays straight. Any tips or intructions to do these kinds of merges?
I'll answer this one: No, there is nothing on Sandbox that is like Foundry's doors that automatically interlock/merge into other things. To further this point, the way to geomerge on Sandbox (which I am guessing is what you want to do) is actually done using the older method of geomerging. On Sandbox, or any DLC map without doors, you have to interlock some object into the object that you want to geomerge (From now on, refer to this as object A). So, you would brace object A as you would on Foundry, whether that be with teleporters or with other immovable objects. Then, set object A to spawn at start: NO. Start a new round. Then you interlock another object into where object A would be and respawn object A. The object you placed at the beginning of the round will act as your "pusher" or like Foundry's doors. Grab object A, save and quit. Tada! Geomerge complete.
How do I make a grav lift immovable and indestructable? I tried interlocking inside/under other objects, but it gets messed up and moves out of place when it's used.
Geomerge a wall into the floor. Door method or interlock/save and quit method. get under the map by spawning a box, putting it on No, restarting round. Stand where it spawns. When it spawns, move forward slightly, when under, quickly go into forge and fly forward some more. Find the wall you geomerged. Move it down a bit. Save, quit, come back. Geomerge grav lift above the wall. Do this by spawning the lift, blowing it up, spawning a box on top so just a bit of the lift shows when the lift spawns again. Double tap A on the lift, it'll fall through onto your wall. This works on Foundry, and I know you can do it on Sandbox, I haven't tried, but I assume it's the same method. Or, if you're in the sky bubble on sandbox, build your floor a little bit in the air. Put lift under.
I'm trying to set up a grav lift up in a tower, not at floor level. Is it impossible to do that while keeping the grav lift non-disturbable?
Well, just put it on instant spawn for a simple solution. Option 2: Build a hollow shape on the ceiling of the level below, not just a square. Depending on size, this could be easy or hard. Make it look like it's meant to be there. Anyway, place the lift inside. PS: It's hard to help in this situation without seeing the tower you have.
