Ok so I was thinking about making a ship map and I thought about two ideas. One of them is easy and just a good idea for a ship vs. ship battle that would be more realistic, the other one however seems harder. I will start off with the easier one Ok so, since there aren't a lot of ship vs. ship battle maps, I would think the reason is for the problem to getting to each ship but also being realistic as well. So my idea is to get 4 prowlers, 2 on each ship. I say prowlers are the best because they are easier to control then mongeese and they can hold more people. Then put a row of shield doors sideways to create a bridge between each ship and then you can get them across with ease. This is the "blast pod" Now for the harder drop pod. As I was starting to create my map I dropped a lot of vehicles and noticed that a certain one drops slowly enough that when it goes from the sky bubble to the middle level it does not blow up, the hornet. So I was thinking if you could get a mongoose, warthog, ghost, ect. attached to it, than it won't blow up from the fall. I know people won't survive it when inside of the hornet, but it could be used for a 2 level map to add support to the people on the lower ground. These are just ideas but they could be used to create some interesting gameplay. Hope you all find this hopefull. ~Kila
Or you could just make a ramp from outside the skybubble that completely dodges it and make it too steep too climb and also vehicles will fall down it rather then trying too attack things too a hornet.
Hows about instead of attaching the vehicles to a hornet, you finish the landing off with a shield door?
a good way to make a vehicle drop pod would be make a whole in the floor[probaly using wall halves]and sitting pallets inside of the windows that are layed flat. and then have a line of fusion coils under that. And one on a wall that is held up by like weapon holders or something that makes it look cool. And what that will do is cause a chain reaction of explosions that will destroy the pallets. in turn the vehicle will then fall out of the ship. But thats just the way i would do it. im sure there tons of other ways to do it to.
ASC671 and i are currently working on our own Drop Pod maps. i made a platform under the sky bubble so that you could get as much elevation as posible without the whole death thing happening. i made there be a one of every land vehicle on the platform and made a teleporter and an overshield power up on the platform as well.
Hellooooooooooo?!!!! you can't drop people from the sky bubble (that is what a drop pod is, a pod that carries a person to the ground.) if you're talking about making a drop pod for vehicle or weapon support then i can't help you , i'm working on a human drop pod.
Yes I am talking about a vehicle drop pod. I did not want to say "vehicle drop pod in the title because I thought it was already long enough.
oh. i've got a simple design for your idea that i'll need to test first before i give it to you, so you'll hear from me soon!
I would make a custom powerup switch that activates the fusion coils, destroying the pallet floor, dropping the hornet to the troops below.
Hey for anyone who want to make this, i have a modded map i can share with you and it has a 2nd skybubble and if you fall from it u dont die ' GT: Death Panda x
Modded content isn't allowed on Forgehub, because Bungie doesn't allow modded content. If you are going to share it, keep it on the down low, and do not post it publicly over the forums. Also, a vehicle drop pod is simple. I have this one idea that involves upside down barriers together, and a mongoose in between them. Throw firebomb grenades at the pallets to release the drop pod. I also have an idea for the blast pod. A small corridor that can only fit a mongoose in, and is low enough so humans can't get in without crouching. After a bit of driving the mongoose goes through a series of mancannons that blast them to the other ship.
It certainly ism an intersting idea, and I'd like to see it in action, but I'm not entirely convinced about its effectiveness as a gameplay dynamic.
On one of my maps I just used a pallet too hold a warthog up; you shoot the pallet and the warthog falls, it then lands on a couple of shield doors about a wood bridge above the floor which is about 3 - 4 'Block, Large's high. If you put shield doors straight onto the door, if the vehicles use wheels with suspension (Mongoose, Warthog), the wheels will drop through the shield door, hit the ground and cause the vehicle too explode.
