So here I am, forging on Sandbox. Blablabla. Get bored, log on to my computer and start surfing through this little website called forgehub where I'm a member of their community. After a bit of posting, I found this thread, and the lightbulb that usually floats above my head lit up. Blinded from the intense light, I unholster my .45 and bust a cap in it. Whatever. To the point, I has a new idea. I might work on it. As you would guess, its an infection game...on an airport, with a twist. The airport will have two levels, and a roof, and I plan on it being very large (aesthetically) in a slightly arch shape, but only half of the airport will be accessible. There will be one airplane...in the sky bubble. 8-16 players. 3 rounds. 7-10 minutes each. Players will spawn outside at the loading docks (where they load the airplanes, but there are no airplanes other than the one in the sky), and two zombies will be just on the edge of the dunes, and they will be released 10 seconds in the game. Anyways, the point is, it will have multiple fallback points should they fall. The first is the loading docks outside, then the ticketing area inside, then in the second floor, the escalators. Fourth is the boarding area, then last...the airplane. Onlt the passenger compartment and cockpit is available. You come out of the teleporter at the back of the average-sized airplane. It's a one way trip into the airplane. Rows of seats that you should use as cover are present, but not plentiful. The cockpit is the final area where you can go. You must make your final stand there, and hold out as long as possible. This is how it would look like, except only the top portion of the airport map thing will be made. Weapons will be spread out, and expect the kind of weapons you expect to see at an airport. No splazers, rocket launchers, and the like (humans spawn with plasma pistols). Grenades will be scarce. Equipment will be scarce. Ammo will be plentiful in the first strong point, then become less and less available as you fallback. However, weak weapons are at the first strongpoint, and more powerful weapons in the next. Vehicles will be a couple mongooses in the loading docks, which have no use other than a play-thing while waiting for the zombies to come. They don't respawn, so save them for fast travelling through the airport to collect weapons. Now, some people might want to just head straight to the airplane/the next strongpoint. I plan on making only the loading area and ticketing area accessible, and then you have to wait for the huge gap in the escalators to spawn. Then you have to wait until the powerup switch to the doors that make the boarding area spawn. Then you have to wait until the jetway to extend so you can get to the airplane. Oh, and also, I might be using a budget-glitched canvas for obvious reasons. Zombies will have 90% damage resistance, normal shields, 125% faster, 75% gravity, and has energy swords. When the later strongpoints become available, two oversheilds at the zombie spawn become available, and spawn at 60 second intervals. No weapon pickup. Humans will be your standard issue humans, spawning with plasma pistols. Weapon pickup enabled. No powerups for you, unless you are stupid daring enough to run all the way to the zombie spawn, and get them. No point in getting them however, you will be quickly overrun, and if you escape unscathed, the overshield will wear out when you get back to the boarding area. Weapon list (draft, and no, I'm not telling you where I plan for them to be placed some weapons don't respawn BTW): Magnums - x12 (2 clips when spawned) SMGs - x7 (2 clips) AR - x4 (2 clips) Shotguns - x3 (1 clip) BR - x4 (1 clip) Sniper rifle - x1 (1 clip) Rocket launcher x1 (0 clips) Yeah, I lied about the not having any rocket launchers part. It's gonna be in the cockpit of the airplane BTW. Yeah, I lied about the weapon placement too. - Maybe a turret. Maybe. Equipment list (also draft): x8 frags x4 spike x1 trip mine x2 deployable cover x2 flare NOTES: I lied about the one way trip into the airplane. About 80% through the game, I grav lift will spawn at the airplane door thing, and push out thee tiny block. From then you can jump out of (or on...) the airplane, and into a bunch of teleporters which will take you a secret place on the Sandbox main level. It's not in the airport, but it's safe. For a while. I realized I posted this like a real map thread should be posted, save the images of the map. This is just an idea/preview. Don't expect it to be ossum, I may just be shitting you guys, and just make the airport really small and crappy, and make the humans super strong and the zombies weak. ****, I just realized I posted some parts as if I was actually gonna make it. This is an idea.
Well the only way I could see this working is if you build the BAAARE essentials first... IE: the walk ways, columns... 3 airport doorways. The second level can have various things, such as mcdonalds and taco bell. Maybe even a Chilis 2 Go (copyright 2009). Just make sure you focus on making the main airport as efficient as possible. I'll be available whenever, so if you friend me.. I can help you out any time you need it. My gamertag is xXJiMbOjAmXx
Actually, I wanted to include a cafeteria type thing as one of the fall back points, but I'll see what I have left over after making the essentials. My subscription ends tomorrow, so tomorrow I have to get a one month. I'll see if I can find some time to forge together, k? I want EpicFishFingers to help tho. I hear he's pro at forge.
You want the truth? It's a bit embarrassing. Anyways, about my map: I'm going to start on the airplane first, because it's the last and final fall back point. The Alamo, if you will. Therefore, it is the most important. Then the airport. I might be cutting down on it's size and limit it to just a quarter of the picture I posted above.
So, since it is an idea, does that mean I can take it? I have been wanting to create something like a mall, since that has been done so many times I wanted something different but had the same feel to it, LIKE THIS. So just to make sure this is just an idea right?
Credit must be rewarded to me. We can make our projects parallel to each other, except your map must look and play drastically different from mine, you got that? I might just take your idea and make a mall.
Yeh fishy is good, but I'm pretty badarse too. I've heard of and know how to do all of the things he does. Just because he's popular in the forging community, doesn't mean he's the only person who knows how to forge well. I've been forging and working on techniques and even developing my own for months, and it wasn't until recently that I joined forgehub. Did joining forgehub make me amazing at forging? No. Did joining forgehub make me a widely known forger? No. Does that necessarily mean I'm a bad forger? No. People who are widely known aren't the only people with those sort of skills. There are people far more beautiful and talented than many actors, but they're not noticed. The point is, don't be so quick to go for the pro forgers that everybody knows to be good. There are tons of people out there who know how to forge, not just fishy. An open mind is good >.<
You Lie alot!:frustrated:... Anyways I was really thinking about making something like an airport. Although foundry would look more like a real not stone airport it is to small which is where I was thinking of making. Sadly I don't have live so I couldn't forge with u BUT I think this would be a great Idea!
I know he is good, because he posts a lot of map ideas and previews, and all those good stuff. You, on the other hand, don't know how good at forging you are, because I haven't seen many of your posts that have to do with forging and maps and stuff. I wanted Fishy to forge with me because I asked him earlier that day and know that he won't be some asshat that doesn't listen to my orders and randomly delete half my map while I'm at the other end.
