I had some questions regarding this site and forging in Halo Forge I have seen people making round objects and use the tin cup as a roof. What is the easyest way to make a round object because I think it will be hard to place them on the right spot after removing the other objects as a new round to place the new ones. Forgehub Okay I was wondering if there are any clans here? I decided to forge a while ago and started with some interlocking tests. But now I am more online on Forgehub I always want to leave a comment on peoples maps but I dont do that because of 2 reasons. 1. I am not a experiences forger im afraid people wont take my opinion seriously. 2. I got noone to test the maps I want to rate so thats why im looking for a clan or something. Small request Is there anyone who has a complete tutorial how to post your maps here? I mean from how to pot the map on Bungie and get the screenshots and what to post here on this site with the right urls. I dont want to leave a bad impression when I post my first map.
Okay, here we go: - The easiest way to make a round object is by interlocking objects. Use thicker objects for larger... cylinders. For a tincup-sized cylindrical shape, I would say use block talls/huges, unless you want it to be hollow (in which case, use walls/wall doubles/wall slits/wall halfs etc.) - No-one here has a right to judge people, nor are they allowed to do so. People won't judge you as a 'noob' or not take you seriously for any reason. Also, although we lack clans here, we do have groups and the Forgehub Testers Guild - For complete tutorials, look here. It's the only thread I know of that has all the info in one place. If you have any more questions, make a thread in the Customer Services forum
EpicFishFingers covered pretty much everything. Posts like his make me miss rep. For an easy way to make round objects, you can use respawn areas. First, in forge, change the gametype to slayer, ctf, or anything else. Place a cylindrical respawn area as a guide. You can adjust its size. Line up the blocks or whatever you use with and interlock each of the objects. It's works very well.
Adding on to the round objects technique. You can place a hill to get the diameter of your circle. Then you have a guide to use that your boxes can easily pass through. I always do this! Sorry!!! Scope already said it!
I made a small hallway in my map but cant think of anything else so thats why I want to experiment with round thingies
I have to disagree a bit with the blow post on the part of taking your opinion seriously. While some people don't care who you are and will listen, some people do ridicule and question every bit and detail, some more than others. The best way to be legitimate is to back up your statements (moreso the main point behind it). You could have two huge blocks of text, and then back up the main idea of it with one sentence, such as, "Lolhub shows you how to interlock like this HERE." Just a quick reference is always good, it's the best way to get people to accept what you have to say with little to no question. Oh yeah, people also appreciate well thought out ideas. A paragraph is always better than two sentences, I believe it to be a good rule of thumb. As for making round objects.. you have to consider what a circle is.. If you have 8 sides on an object, it's an octogon, if it has 10 sides... it's a dex?agon.. once you get to about 15 sides (depending on the radius of the circle), your equilateral polygon will even out into a circle. In otherwords, you'll need to interlock about 4 block larges in an even manner to create a circle, Just make sure the center of the blocks are all in the same place!
Bah making a decent map is harder then I thought Every new item I want to put in I have to interlock again or it looks stupid compare to the rest And I started in the skybubble so I got to make floors too
Actually the best way to forge a circle is to go into forge and change the gametype to king of the hill, then make a circular hill and make it however big you want it. From there you can interlock objects around the hill and they will always form a pretty good circle if you line them up correctly.
I tried to put a slayerspawncircle there but found out I need to make a floor first Tomorrow I think Ill continue maybe add a floor for a idea how big im mking the map.
