i am a kind of good forger but, i don't put alot of effort into my work, like getting things straight. i would like it if there was an option for you to be able to snap things like 5 degrees at a time, so you can get the object PERFECT straignt, and have it PERFECTLY lined up to an object next to it, so even the worst of my forges would look decnt.
i definatly agree with you. forge should be more like a cad program where things can be shifted by lengths and degrees. there should be a grid mode where blocks are locked into the grid and can only be moved certain distances so everything can be places nice and even(ofcourse this would be able to be toggled for those special placements that arent even.)
But remember, forge was a program designed to cater to people who are not very skilled in map making programs. The reason forge is so popular is that it is so easy to use. If you want more in depth map making programs, well the computer has that monopoly.
I want the ability to snap objects to each other, to custom design the BMP of the map, to add in my own textures, for there to be weather, for there to be dynamic lighting, for there to be an option to make objects im/movable, for there to be an option to easily interlock/geomerge, the ability to create invisible barriers with modifiable l/w/d/elasticity, the ability to create death barriers with modifiable l/w/d/intensity, the ability to more easily create switches, and for there to be Scarabs and Elephants in the Vehicles menu. And I want this game to still cost $60.
then, you'll have to wait about 20 years for something like that to be developed. Or hack. Your choice. In the meantime theres probably a game closer to what you want on PC. Take some searching for though. It won't be Halo3, either.
I was referring more to "HEY I WANT MY HALO 3 FORGE TO BE EASIER TO USE SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORK AS HARD" wishing. @aMoeba: It's not.
Yes, I think just about everyone on this site wishes that. However, I think I heard forge was thrown on towards the end and it is a new concept as well. Plus it's the only map editor on the Xbox we have for a good game.
