Hello ForgeHub, I'm fairly new to forging and I have a project I'm working on right now on Sandbox, and this is the first major problem I've encountered, so I was hoping someone here might know a solution. I'm making an obstacle course of sorts in the skybox, and one of the obstacles I wish to make requires four golf balls to be suspended in air, forcing the player to jump across them to reach another platform at the end. I've tried suspending them with a few techniques (placing something under them and then deleting said item, leaving the ball suspended), but every time a player jumps on the ball, it falls down through the skybox and onto the sand below. To make things worse, when the balls respawn, they simply fall down to the sand below. In other words, I need to find a way to permanently (if possible) keep the golf balls suspended in air. It does not matter to me whether they are permanently there or have to respawn every 10 seconds, provided that they stay in place so that repeated runs can be made at the obstacle. If I haven't been clear, just ask, otherwise any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Yeah I'm recreating Wipeout, albeit with moderate success =D The sucker punch wall is grav lifts that push you off a bridge, haha. I'll try your suggestions for keeping the "big balls" in place. I hope it works. Thanks Edit: I got it. Thanks!
for sucker punch you could make a wall with holes in it and put fusion coils in the holes. Put the minimum on map at about half and then put grav lifts/ mancannons behide them to launch them. This technique keeps the fusion coils randomized spawning. Making it unpredictable just like the sucker puch. If you need help just message me/inv. on live.
Hey, I like that idea. I was trying to figure out how to get the coils to fire through the wall like that. As it stands, the sucker punch is alright - there are grav lifts set up to bump the player off the edge (Rather than having "mud pits" to fall into, the player falls of the map and has to start over from the beginning of the course), but I will definitely be looking into revising things once I've built a rough draft.
I have an Idea. What if you put a teleporter underneath it and place shield doors on the sides so the balls become 'bouncy." Only problem is that it could never respawn so if you touched it, it would keep moving until the end of the round.
You could put a shield wall down and then put the ball down and place recievers on top of the balls. I said balls.
