    I know what you think:
    Isolation = Fail
    Heavy = Fail
    Then Isolation Heavy Must = Fail. I can assure you, Isolation Heavy will change your mind. The goal was to give players a choice on how they play the match along with giving them some variety. It is NOT a vehicle-centric gametype, Lasers do not rule the map, and it is balanced fun for free-for-all, 4v4 Slayer and 4v4 Objective.

    About Your Map
    Isolation Heavy gives the power back to the player, allowing them to chose how they want to fight their war. Isolation has evolved from the standard shotgun/sniper control and will require entire map domination, otherwise you will find yourself at the wrong end of a laser. Every player of every skill ability will have fun, thanks to the ghosts and warthogs, but one will need to master the Laser, Banshee, hammer, gravity lift, and even the flare to truly earn the victory.

    Lets do a quick review on the common complaints against Isolation:
    1.) Repetitive weapon gameplay (BR with occasional sniper usage)
    2.) Repetitive location gameplay (Top center and sniper are the key control points)
    Heavies:
    1.) Typically, Games are based around the multiple number of lasers
    2.) It is primarily a vehicle gametype

    How does Isolation Heavy by Odin12345 get around this?
    1.) Greater weapon variety
    - Two Spartan lasers grace each base
    - A human turret can be carried around the map, giving vehicles and infantry a good reason to take cover
    - the Bruit Shot will become a new favorite since it works very well against vehicles in a close-quarters situation.
    - Your BR will still be your primary weapon. The map layout has not changed, so mid to long range BR battles are still a large part of the fight.
    2.) More points of interest, including a teleporter.
    - A one-way teleporter was added behind the original ghost spawn. This allows for more fluid movement from the bottom to the top of the map. In addition, it provides another attack angle against enemies camping the top of the map
    - Thanks to the lasers and vehicles, people are forced to move from the top to the bases. The top center still allows you to control the map, but you will need to move to capture the new lasers
    - If the enemy has all of the vehicles/weapons, you still have a chance to get out of their spawncamping. Easy laser access and tripmines within the base give you a great chance to counter the spawn campers

    [IMG]

    What about Heavies?
    1.) Only 2 lasers, and they have a 3 minute spawn. Since it is more of a close-quarters map, it is easier to BR someone before they can charge and fire their laser.
    2.) The vehicles have a short life. (typically less than 1 minute, if it even gets away from its spawn) The goal of Isolation Heavies was not to create a vehicle-centric map, but to give players another tool to eliminate the opposition.

    Common Questions:
    "What about the death ceiling for the Banshee?"
    - If you hit the ceiling, you were running away from the battle. Yes, you will die at least once from this, but it does not stop the fun.
    "This map is too closed for Warthogs"
    - The warthogs were better used as portable turrets. In CTF, they are great for sealing off an entrypoint or covering an attack. This is not standoff, so don't expect total ownage. However, they have their uses, espeically against a banshee.

    Here is the quick list of changes:
    Removed: Mongoose
    Added or adjusted: ghosts x2, warthogs x2, Laser x2, banshee, gravity hammer, turret, plasma pistols x4, teleporter, flare x2, gravity lift, magnums x2, tripmine x2, and several grenades.

    I would highly encourage you to download this and try it out in a Free-For-All. You might come to find out that Isolation Can be fun again.

    Wow.

    I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and download. But I won't be able to critique the map until I do...

    Well done on trying the oldschool maps though!

    Don't forget that if you fly too high with the banshee, you will die instead of hitting an elastic barrier.

    While the banshee is the best vehicle on the map, it is by no means a surefire win.
    1.) There is a death ceiling in Isolation. If you fly too high, your banshee dies. It is very difficult to run away from your enemies.
    2.) If you try to splatter someone, you will likely run into a branch. This causes severe damage and reduces your shields
    3.) If you go through the tunnels, you will either get boarded or slam into a wall, weakening your shields. (or get a LOT of splatters)
    4.) There are a lot of counters, including
    - Lasers
    - Plasma Pistols
    - Stickies
    - Turret
    - Warthog
    - and even the bruit shot.

    While there are a lot of counters for the Banshee, it can still rack up some kills. Most people get at least 2 kills before they die, but some have gotten killing sprees or greater. If you treat the banshee as an oversized ghost, you have a good chance at survival. If you are a good pilot, you will even get some kills.

    DimmestBread beat me to the punch :)

    Great idea from a good thing. But just a little repetitive. Give it a special touch from your hand and your good to go

    Hmm, I really swear that isolation never had warthogs/banshees. So i was like blown out of the water when i saw this. It is a great idea and you made me want to fire up halo and see if im crazy or not. Anyway me and you must think a like because i always thought this would make a great vehicle/heavy map, but i didnt know it could be done so kudos on making what i dreamed of(not really).It does seem i would enjoy this so ill dwld. And just wondering where do the teleporters in the top mid area come from? Great map even for pre -DLC>;

    The teleport behind the banshee is a one-way teleport to the very top (behind the turret in the picture)

    There are two exit nodes. This helps prevent teleport camping (player 1 goes in teleport and comes out the left side, player two goes through and comes out the right side, player 3 goes through and comes out the left...) and it makes things even from a symmetry standpoint. (One team does not get an advantage over the other).
