As the title says, I would like to know how to make different weapons appear only in certain gametypes. For example, the map im working on is good for both slayer and SWAT. For slayer, I would like sniper rifles, etc. to appear, but for SWAT, I only want battle rifles and carbines.

Also, could someone tell me how to make a custom gametype? I need to make a FFA SWAT gametype for my map.

    Thanks in advance for reading!

i belive you'll need to delete the weapons on the map you have and re-put new ones for SWAT if you wish to make this a SWAT map. i don't quite know if there is a way to just set the weapons, but i don't do the weapon spawns, i leave that to my testers to debate and decide upon.

For FFA SWAT, just take the MM version of Team SWAT and make it so that teams are off.

Wait... you don't know how to make a gametype? Well, it's easy! Just bring up any variant for the base gametype you want, (for example, pick any Slayer game for SWAT) and then hit X. From there, you can edit anything you want, such as the scoring, base player traits, vehicles on the map, etc.

However, you specifically mentioned that you want only certain weapons to spawn on the map. As far as gametype options go, you can determine that to a point. If you go into the "Weapons and Vehicles" section of the gametype, you can change what weapons will appear on the map based on a broad selection that Bungie gives you. There is a Sniper Rifles option, but for BR's and Carbines, you'd have to make a map to go with it and leave the option set to Map Default. Sorry.

Its not that he doesn't know how to make a gametype. It is that he wants a different weapon set ON THE MAP for different gametypes. Which the only way to do this is by deleting all the weapons in the map and then put the weapons you want for each gametype. Im not sure if you have noticed but for swat games in matchmaking none of the maps are the regular name for every gametype. If that doesn't make sense it means all of the swat maps have some sort of way as to saying swat in the name. It is usually somewhat clever, I can not remember any of them but an example is orbiswat(swat on orbital). Hope this helped you.

You can change the weapon set if it falls in a different category. But there are only 2: symmetrical or assymmetrical.

The only way to have one map with different weapon sets is by changing their spawn settings to either symmetrical or asymmetrical. However, both slayer and SWAT are considered symmetrical games, so this option will not help you.
The only solution would be to release two versions of your map.

Symmetrical is basically 90% of the gametypes.

Asymmetrical is One flag, One Bomb, Territories, etc.

He will only spawn at the gametype you select.

For exemple, you put a wall to be asymmetric. The wall will only spawn in games such as one bomb or territories. In slayer games, it wont be there.
