Sandbox Spark City

    I have made this map only recently, & this is my best big party map in my arsenal. This is Spark City, where the default gametype is always Heavy! The map has what you would normally find in Heavy; Wraiths, Spartan Lasers, Warthogs, & more! Each side starts in symmetrical bases separated by a central structure (yes, I know it looks like a Forerunner structure.) The towers on each side house the most powerful weapons for each side, like the Spartan Laser. Control the towers & you control the field. For a map of this size, alas, there's only one sniper; the Beam Rifle, located in the middle opposite the middle building. Mancannons take you directly to the middle structure; they're located by the Wraiths. This map, specifically, meant to be played with Multi Flag, Multi Bomb, & Team Slayer. Works best with 10-16 players.

    This is the overall view of Spark City.

    This is the home base for both sides. Both are exactly symmetrical. Note the Warthog tucked away under the base.

    This is the flag spawn for both bases: behind the central obselisk

    Each side has a Power Tower, where the best weapons spawn; a Needler, a Shotgun, a Trip Mine, and a Spartan Laser.

    This the central structure that houses the Missile Pod & Overshield (+ SMGs). The teleporter's in the back.

    The lone Beam Rifle spawns under the "arch" at right. The Power Drain spawns under the Double Wall.

    At the front of each base is an area where some interesting weapons spawn; the Gravity Hammer, a second Rocket Launcher, & the Wraith. Don't waste 'em, for they all have a very long respawn time.

    Remember these three important things to play Spark City correctly:
    1. 10-16 players works best/ is recommended
    2. Only plays on Team Slayer, Multi Bomb, & Multi Flag
    3. Have fun! Remember, it's a BTB game, not Ranked Slayer.

    WOW! this map is sweet i love how each base is so original and i have never seen something like this in any other maps this is grate.

    Thank you! I love that kind of honesty. Another thing I forgot to add, though, is that I have reached my limit on the map, so I can't put anymore objects on the map. If you have a suggestion that involves adding something, also include what could be deleted, so I can make room for it. Thanks.

    It does not look good from first sight, but a closer look shows new, clean and interesting forging. It doesnt look good because it looks like a collection of basic structures, by linking them together it will give a new interest for the map, as well as safety for people on foot.

    You should re do it.
    make it wider so it is easier for wraiths and tanks to move around
    Make 3 paths hovering above the map with varying wideness to control which vehicles can drive on them.
    Make these:
    make a path above the map available to warthogs/prowlers, mongooses and foot. (bigger than a walls width)
    another path above available for mongooses and foot (a Walls width)
    one narrow path thin enough for foot soldiers only. (3-4 walls on thin side)(or wide with obstacles to JUMP over.)
    This way you can give balance to lighter vehicles by giving them paths only they can use.
    and have tanks or scorpians driving underneath.
    No banshees, just hornets because flying vehicles can go on their own path, and banshees are too powerful for this.

    Have a Laser in the middle
    Rockets at each base
    why?
    Lasers kill vehicles too easily
    Rockets give a fair advantage being shorter range then lasers. If the wraith charges you then you can use rockets.
    With lasers you can kill it no matter what.

    No mancannons, they defeat the purpose of a big map with vehicles when played on CTF.

    The Wraiths do move easily through the open paths. No offense, but the paths sound dumb. What's the point of vehicles, then? Hornets are the cheapest vehicles when equipped with missiles, & they can dogde practically everything, so no Hornets. There are Rockets at each base; they're located behind the Mongooses in front the base, around the corner. Also, if you ever played a Heavy map, you'll see there are more than one Spartan Lasers per map, so can't fix that. Also, don't criticize until you've actually played the map. Don't say it looks bad just because you saw its picture, OK? You did play the map, right?

    I spent 10 minutes typing suggestions about your map and you cant even take any criticism.
    There is a simple solution to hornets with missles, hornet transports.
    And I did not say your map looked bad.
    You do not have to follow any specific rules of a heavy map.

    And no I did not download your map, can you guess why I didnt?

    Hey, look, I'm sorry. I kinda get aggrivated really easily when it comes to something that I make up. I'm an artist, what do you expect? I know you're giving an opinion, I just really have a hard time accepting them. So, I'm sorry, is that OK?

    You could always make them transport hornets-no missiles
    another thing i would do is to merge the grave lifts into the rocks so they don't get destroyed
    other than that, great map

    Arguing your point on your map thread will not get you any more downloads or make you a better forger, rather it will make you look like a mean person.

    As a Heavy only map this looks pretty fun.
    (this is like splockets only right? as game type?)

    Very clean map-looks symetrical

    Also as a heavy map you really dont need a bunch of complex structures or anything as someone above mentioned

    I think the banshees might be annoying but thank god for lasers.


    Ill try and get a game goin on this tomorow, but its really hard to get alot of people playin cuz like i got 3 friends that play halo 3 anymore and hard to make friends because noone uses the mic


    actually that comment about not DLing his map was kind of mean.
    So just get out of this thread and quit arguing

    Yeah, but Transport Hornets wouldn't do too good, I feel. Without missiles, they're pretty useless (except for those on foot, but remember; Rockets & Lasers?) Also, I can't geomerge Grav Lifts into the ground, because they disappear.

    Oh, I forgot, how do you add tags? I know there's an option, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    Does that work? I feel like I've tried something like that before & it didn't work. I'll try it, then it should maybe be available. I still doubt it'll work, but I'll try anyway. I'll add a note on this post when I finished it.

    * I can't geomerge the Grav Lifts, so I'm replacing them with Mancannons. Sure, you'll go a lot higher, but at least you can enjoy the view.*

    I love it! This is easily the greatest BTB Heavy map I've ever laid my eyes on. That central structure looks godly, and the bases look sweet, too. At first, it seems like all those vehicles would be too overpowering, but then you see that there are 2 Rocket Launchers and 2 Splasers. I'll give this a download and run a few games on here, because I think it is a great map. If you're interested in getting some games going, my gamertag is PELGORE. I don't think that you should change anything on here. 5/5

    Thanks for the comment Pel, but there's no need for that. I know I can't accept opinions too well, but that's just who I am. He also forgave me, so AlexIsCoool & I are just letting that stupid scuffle behind, right Alex?

    I am currently thinking of working on a 2nd version of this map, but I don't know what to delete & build. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should refurnish, please let me know, & I'll see what I can do. Thank you!

    Wow, very nicely forged. Whenever I try to do symmetrical like this.. I fail :) but 5/5 good map.
