OKay, So maybe when you actually play it it'll say raining cats on dogs. But does that really make a difference? What this is is small sword arena for two to four people. It's really simple. For about 3 seconds. Then vehicles come crashing down into the arena. And they keep falling. The arena will keep changing and it will never be the same. Not so simple now is it. If you get a spree your are awarded 4 bonus points making your fifth kill in a row worth 5 points. Just try to get one though. You'll probably get killed by a banshee as parts fly around the arena. There are also a hundred respawn points randomly placed to prevent camping. And I know someone will get out. It's happened before. If they do they'll find seven sender nodes. If they're lucky they'll go in a box with a grav hammer then they go to the one way teleporter in the box and be in the arena with a new weapon. If they're not lucky they get to meet a kill ball. Now onto the pics. They're embeded this time. A simple sword arena... ...or maybe not The map will never look like this again. The positions of the vehicles will always be changing See these teleporters... ... If your lucky you go in a box with a grav hammer and you can enter the fight even stronger... just build the walls up higher to prevent escape. and if you hit the object limit, you can get wid of a few spawn points, i wouldn't have thought 100 would be neccesary on a map this small.
I purposely wanted it to be possible for people to get out. They don't get point while they're out there and unless there lucky they get themselves killed. ANd I hate camping so thats why there is a hundred respawn points. And if there is to many vehicles please tell me.
Even if there was 500 spawn points, on a tiny square like this its not going to matter. Yeah, just build the walls up higher.
Yeah, even though it can be boring for them, one noob can ruin a whole game just by getting out of the map. I like the concept of a certain-death map, although games like that can get laggy and frustrating. so, you can just put some mancannons on the walls pointing forward-down into the box, and things should be fine. Oh, and HIDE BEHIND BILL!!! THE SMOKER WILL GO FOR HIM FIRST!!! I swear to god, I reviewed this map just to say something like that.
I like it just because it was designed for the Halo 2 sword gametype. Really, though, just build the walls a bit higher, because there will almost always be someone who will sit out there just to be annoying. Apart from that, it seems nice enough.
IF your out of money and can't make the walls higher just make the gametype with a heaver gravity. Unless of course you like the fact of a grav hammer possibility.
Before people say things like this I want people to be able to get out because its still pretty difficult. And for those noobs sitting out there the whole. time. The grav hammer will lure them to the teleporters. And then they're back in the map
It's been done, but this is alright. Swords sound fun on it. The arena is kinda small, but it will work. So how did you get the objects to fall randomly? It seems like they should all just fall at once each time, but maybe I'm wrong.
They all fall at once at the begining. When I said randomly I meant that every time they fall the wreckage isn't going to be in the exact same place. That why I said in my post that the battlefield is constantly changing. And it's only meant for two to four people anyway. And you need to use the gametype. Don't ask me how but I had a hornet land undamaged once and we weren't playing with the gametype so he destroyed everyone the odds of that happening are probably about 1 in 1000000000000 so don't worry about it to much. I've tested it with friends and they've had a lot of fun with it. There's nothing funnier then seeing some one a kill away from a spree (which gives you 4 bonus points) and then a banshee explodes and the wreckage blows them away. aka kills them. Oh and by the way WATCH OUT FOR SMOKERS!!!!!!!!!! THEY'VE INADED THE MAP AND POST AS YOU SEE IN THE FINAL PICTURE!!!!!!! THE APOCALYPSE IN HALO HAS COME I TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!! COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems kind of bland to be honest... An empty box where stuff falls on top of you. It's been done before a lot, how about working on aesthetics, or add something interesting to mix up the gameplay? Other than that, I also recommend you make the walls higher... you could easily escape from them by jumping on top of the items that fall.
Please read the post. I want people to be able to get out. IF they do the possibility that they might get a gravity hammer will almost certainly lure them to their deaths. I am testing the auto merging of double posts. Pleases do not give me an infraction for this just testing something.
I'm sure you calculated that statistic all by yourself right? Lol. Anyways, I think this gametype idea is brilliant. And if you want a lure to bring people to the teleporters, make it a shotgun, because if used right, the shotgun ALWAYS beats the sword. Just be sure to only have one clip in it.
