Hey! Well as I have asked for some help before from my fellow forgers, here I am yet again. I have just recently finished placing affective spawn points throughout my map, known as Fragmentation. These Spawn points are functioning correctly and prevent spawn killing and other things. I have not yet placed any respawn areas, and before I had done so I figured I would come here for some Hints & tips since I am horrible with respawn areas.

they work in exactly the same way to spawn points except you can change their effect area. use them instead of placing lots n lots of spawn points, they're just a shortcut to loads spawn points.

They affect the alignment of neutral respawn points. Use them when you want certain areas to be designated as team spawns in certain game modes, but as normal spawns in others.

Yeah, like the guy above me said. They make any spawn point insode them of the specific allignment but, I also believe that they prevent you from spawning in that area if an enemy is there or if a teammate recently died there. In addition if this is correct they also make you more likely to spawn where living teammates are.

Hope this is right and hope it helps.

    Advanced Guide to Respawns

I strongly advise that you read the entire article I linked above. It is very informative.

Without spawn areas, players will spawn as far away from the enemy as they can. This can cause predictable spawns and it is certainly not a good thing. With spawn areas, you will most likely spawn in an area that a teammate is in, and you will most likely not spawn in an area where an enemy is.

Yeah, I had read up on that link awhile ago, and I understand how it all works..I'm just not very talented at manipulating the system, whenever i try it lots of spawn killing occurs, or it makes the game unbalanced.

Hm... how do you set them up? Usually I have multiple spawn areas, of course. They would overlap. In some places you would be standing in 3 spawn areas all at once. When you place your spawn areas, you must take in to account where you want the players to spawn, not spawn, how often, and the relative area. If you don't want spawn killing, you will need to have large areas. Think: if red player is here, blue player should not spawn here. Thus, you create a spawn area that cause blue player to spawn somewhere else.

If your respawn points already work like you want them to, then you don't necessarily need respawn areas. All you need if they're working properly already is the huge half-map respawn areas set to each team to determine where that team spawns in flag games and such.
