This is for SANDBOX. Imagine an infection game where the humans are walking down the hallway and then from above them on the roof, a zombie triggers a switch that makes the cieling in that spot cave in and the zombie jumps in to surprise the humans. this cieling will respawn and not fall unless the switch is triggered again.

pallets cannot work since i will be needing them for other things.

custom power ups CAN be used

i was thinking if there was somehow i could incorporate small blocks and tiny blocks as the ceiling that would be great.

    please suggest ideas!

Capitalization and correct spelling are usually the norm here.

I am not very experienced in the way of switches or Infection (gay unless it's innovative) so I can't really help you. Try talking to goatnutts. He is like the master of switches.

What could be used is making like set of 4 damaged columns or 4 tiny blocks and have them interlocked so that when you stand on them they freak out and get destroyed.

This. It works, but you have to know how.
Start by putting a double block or some other support structure down where you want your trap to be. Next, place the tiny blocks/damaged columns. Set them to not spawn at start, then interlock them with the rest of the ceiling.
Next, set the tiny blocks to spawn at start, with whatever respawn you want. Set the ceiling the blocks are interlocked with to spawn at start: no, with a 10 second respawn. This prevents the blocks from spazzing out at the beginning, but requires you place a support structure underneath the blocks to prevent them from falling at the beginning.
If you don't want to put anything underneath, lower the blocks' respawn times but let the normal ceiling spawn at start. The ceiling will start out with holes in it, but the blocks will respawn in place.
